thread of games converted from one thing to another by manufacturer

If this type of thread already exists, please go ahead Mod-Gods and kill it..

I keep thinking about the extra black paint appearing on my Moon Patrol, and how it looks like it was done intentionally by someone other than an amateur. I've done some searches on the Interwebs and have not yet seen another MP with black paint on it but man it's weird.

A member here thought the game may have been a conversion from a different Williams game, but the original metal tag is long gone so, I have no way to tell if it was ever anything before being a Moon Patrol.

Anyhow, I thought it would be nice to list the cabs that were used BITD to make NEW cabs if sales were failing. Here are the ones I know already:

Lunar Lander (Atari) ---> Asteroids

Robotron (Williams) ---> Joust (at least I think that was the case)

Tempest (Atari) ---> Star Trek S.O.S. (Sega conversion kit)

Tempest (Atari) ---> Shinobi (Sega conversion kit)

What other cabs were recycled to make newer games that were up-and-coming? Feel free to include kits and conversions.

EDIT: and back to my original question, were games converted INTO Moon Patrols? ie from Defenders maybe?

Ms. Pac Man to Junior Pac
Pac Pan to Junior Pac
Ms. Pac Man or Pac Man to Nintendo Vs System

Now this I can totally understand. I'll bet when the Pac-Ms. Pac craze started to die off, there were probably more cabs left lying around than anyone wanted to even look at!

Mappy to Jr.PacMan

Race (Fun Games inc.) to Robot Bowl (Exidy). Exidy bought Fun Games Inc in '77, and used their unsold Race cabinets for the initial run of Robot Bowl.

Magical Spot --> Devil Zone

This is a little speculative on my part, but these games share the same cab art and CP art, save for the game title displayed on the sides and the instruction plate on the CP (the marquees are vastly different). Upon inspecting a Devil Zone photo recently, it looked like the name (displayed in one portion of a butterfly-type wing) was a factory addition on top of the original Magical Spot artwork - the area displaying the name was a slightly different colour than the rest of the wing, which is not the case with Magical Spot.

I stand to be corrected by a more knowledgable Universal collector than myself!

Cool thread....

......I used to have a HUO Super Zaxxon Cabaret that was factory converted from a regular Zaxxon. You could see a couple spots that they just put new side art directly over the old.

I had it at CAX last year, picture of my son playing it:
