i might be working out a trade for this one. i've seen one, but never played it.

i know it's not a highly sought after pin, but it looks pretty cool and the theme is right up my alley.

thoughts? opinions? etc?

Lol on this.

Years ago, before i even liked Pins, maybe 7 years ago? i was in an arcade, and they had one of these. I couldnt stop playing it - i really liked it. Besides twilight zone in the early 90s this was the only time i ever played a Pin on location.

Sometimes, i look for one, but always pass, because of the gambling theme / i have young kids and it would feel a bit, i dont know, trashy (maybe not, but somethings not right about it). Maybe someday.

Is it a good pin? I dont know - i mean, i had no basis for comparison when i played it years back. I really need to play one again. If i knew it was a GOOD title, i would overlook the theme (did that for Dracula, not kid friendly, but man thats a great game).

There is like one or two you tube vids on it though - not enough to get a feel.

Let me know if you score it - i would ask for your take, and maybe even a video for you tube.....

there is one on route locally. its a fun pin imo. the one on route is dirty as hell and most of the lights are out. i still enjoy it. what are you thinking of trading for it?

Personally I always enjoyed it, BUT I haven't played it since it was new back in 2001 or whenever it first showed up. I'd love to find one again to play but haven't seen one since back then. In my opinion, they seem fairly scarce, but at the same time not really sought after either.

i have young kids as well (6, 4, and 2). the theme isn't really an issue for me....my two oldest know i play poker, so it's not as big a deal. but yeah, in a general sense, i'm like you: theme is important due to the kiddos.

anywhoo.....i have no idea if i'm getting this one or not. i'm trying to work a 1 for 1 trade on it, but i'm in the early stages and have no idea if it's gonna fly or not. like you, i tried to look up some info on it, but there's just not that much out there....i played the virtual version, but it's a rather weak effort, IMO....the only thing i could tell is that the multiball seemed to be really fun.

trying to work a deal for my starship troopers. i listed it for trade on craigslist and heard back from this guy...he was apparently searching for one.

i know that pin has a love/hate thingy going on, but i actually like SST....it's not an easy pin, IMO....some tight shots and some cool multiball action. but, i've had it for over a year now and i just kinda have that itch to get something new, ya know?

i hear ya. if hrc is in good condition it seems like a fair trade. good luck with it.let us know the outcome.

it's supposed to be HUO, so i'm assuming it's in good condition. i can't say that my SST is HUO, but i can tell you that the only playfield wear is a very minor spot at the scoop....i would think a cliffy's would cover it up nicely (assuming they have one for SST).

i really think it's a fair trade.....it's not like either is an A-list title.

I've played HRC a couple times and really dig it, but need more time to say if it will ever visit the house. Good luck on the trade!

HRC is pretty underrated. Value 1000-1500. Trading an SST for it would be a fair trade. If you do get it, make sure you upgrade the roms to 3.0 (latest version). The revision makes the game flow A LOT better.

thanks, man. it seems as though most folks think it's a decent game and a fair trade for SST.

the only problem i'm running into is that this is supposedly an HUO pin....and i get the feeling that the owner wants more.

i appreciate the fact that it's an HUO and that it's in really good condition, but let's be honest, neither of these titles are turning many heads.....i'm not saying there's anything wrong with either of them....hell, i think both of them are fun, but IMO unless my SST is trashed (which it is NOT), then i believe the straight up trade is the most fair.

Starship Troopers probably has more longevity than High Roller Casino. SST will probably hold its value better among pinball collectors but HRC would probably make more money on location and be more of interest to casual players. I think SST has better gameplay than HRC but they're both probably similar games. Personally I think SST is more valuable than HRC.
