I am considering doing a scratch build lowboy cab to use a multicade cab to replace the Dynamo I have now. I have always liked the looks of them and they aren't so overpowering that it can be used in my home office. I threw this design together in sketchup. I have a 27" size monitor in the model. Are there any lowboy designs you are particularly fond of? I kind of wanted to make something a bit unique but I am open to a lot of ideas.

lol it seems like a cool design, wouldnt mind gaming on one of these. Never heard of that cab style before though

You're design looks great! I personally like the lowboy design and I've built a couple for friends. I'm in the middle of building one for a Shuffleshot PCB too.

One nice thing about them is that they don't stick out so much in a room like a full-size upright. They are also lighter and much easier to move without all of the extra wood in the top portion. Being tall, they are easier for me to play because there isn't a marquee in my face.

From what I've read, they were very popular in Australia. I always thought that this dedicated Australian lowboy Neo-Geo was badass:

I think they look great, and I was also thinking of building a MAME version of a lowboy for my computer room. I always had an arcade game in there until I built my gameroom, it'd be nice to have something small in there again and I don't like cocktails.
