What are your thoughts on "Last Action Hero"?

There one locally for $1200. I say it's pretty fun.
BUT my wife played this and Diner last Summer,
I wanted the Diner and she wanted the Last Action Hero. (We bought the Diner then)

So now maybe I should buy this one and 'SAY' it's for
her? hehehehe

Thoughts on the game?

Steve

I just picked one up, and it's "kickin my arse" bloody fun! It is my first and only pin though, so I may be a bit biased...

If it is in pretty good shape I'd say the price is fair... maybe you could knock a $100.00 off and make it really fair.

"In this game the bad guys can win"

It's not a game pin collectors want, therefore you can get it for less than $1000. Maybe $1000 if it's really nice and totally shopped out. If it's dirty or needs any work, it's a $600-800 game, IMO.

I don't know why Data East does not get much love they have a bunch of really cool games. Their is an op near me asking 1395 CAD for a LAH, If i had the space I would consider offering 1000 and see if they would take it.

I remember playing DE Batman when it first came out, I remember liking it because I could shoot the bat cave for like ever and the joker skee ball was kinda cool. Played it again the other week at a movie theatre and it still made me smile...and thats one of DE lowest rated pins so what do i know :)

I have one and really like it paid about 1000.00 for it. I also dont understand why data east doesn't get any love i guess its Gary Stern but what do I know. I have a couple and there among my favorites.

I had one a long time ago and thought it was a good game. Lots of humor in the game. There were a lot of really good Williams titles out about the same time, so the game didn't get a lot of attention. The movie sort of bombing probably didn't help matters either. If you are looking at one make sure that the crane gearbox is working properly! They are impossible to find.

It's a combination of lame/dated themes (Lethal Weapon, Last Action Hero) and designs usually ripped off from better Bally/Williams games. DE games also have a different "feel" compared to B/W games.

Then again, there are some lame B/W themes - Johnny Mnemonic, for example...still - that's a lame theme w/ some killer gameplay!

Personally, I LOVE DE Tommy, even though it's design is partially "reverse Addams" ...however, the software is great, the music is awesome, and it's got some really cool features like the blinders that I've never seen on a B/W game. GNR is pretty good even though it borrows from a lot of games... and it has a great (IMO) theme.

DE games are fun if the price is right. I just wouldn't go spending $1000 on a LW3 when you can spend the same on a Bram Stoker's Dracula or something.

That's the way I like it; keeps the cost down...Lah is a good pin albeit the last time I played one was about 10 yrs. and had trouble with the crane but I imagined if thing was a 100 percent would be pretty decent.

D.e Batman is one of my favorite D.E. pins next to Jurrasic Park, Laser War, etc. Played when it came out when I was in a lull with pinball and got me back into playing again. I'm a huge fan of Burton's Batman movies so this helps! Yeah it's not the deepest pin some of the sounds suck but you gotta to love the music. Still looking for one that doesn't have wear in, out lanes but I'm patient! Why oh why there was not a Batman Returns pin is beyond me! One last thing those IPDB ratings are very skewed....Alot of these ratings are people playing these once and not owning them and basing an opinion on one play!

LAH is a very fun, and extremely challenging game to play IMO. Like someone else said though, it's my first and only pin so I could be biased too, but I love my LAH machine, lots of cool features.

I've seen them selling for between $2000-$3000 + so maybe it's finally coming into it's own. I personally paid $1900 Cdn for mine, (I know that was a bit high) and that was a good 6 years ago.

I recall one of the best sound tracks to one of the worst movies. Unfortunately the game does not play the sound track but I still think its a fun game way better then the movie for sure.

i love mine. Getting ready to shop it out completely. Just made a huge order at pinball life and cointaker to get it straight. :)
