Anyone own one? Thoughts good and bad? Does it have good replayability, flow, etc? What are these worth?

Have you looked at the IPDB page for it? Might be a start.

Jow, what happened to Taxi???? Hook is alright not as good as Taxi and that DAMN parrot in that game deters me off ever owning it!

I like the DE-John-Williams-Remix music ....and the game looks nice. Ultimately, the rest of the sound package is pretty annoying, and the gameplay is pretty stale.

It's not a bad "first pin if you don't know any better" ...esp. if it's cheap, like $800 or so. If it gets over $1000 - there are better games to buy.

It's worth playing whenever you pass by one on location, but I think it would grow a little stale in a home environment. If it's cheap, it might be worth getting to have for a little while though.

Ha, Im still looking for Taxi, but have been checking out what else is out there :)

Thanks for the info, guys. The ad has it listed for $1500, so I wont worry about it.

A friend still has a HOOK on his route because it still makes money!

Yeah, it seems that the theme would be popular for a lot of people, which was kinda why I was asking how it would hold up for home use. My wife loves the movie, as do I, but I don't want to overpay for something that isn't going to hold up real well.

My favorite part of the movie is the score ....so, I really like the music in the pin. That aspect gives me a bit of a softspot for the game, but again - I wouldn't pay over $1000 for it ...if one popped up for $600 or so, I'd bite and play it for a while.

Jow, I personally would stay away from the Data East pins. Get a good Williams from the early to mid 90s. They rock and are well supported by the repro and new part sellers.

Get that TAXI!

I'm trying, bro. There is one semi-local that has been on ebay (twice now with no sale). I may contact the seller to see if he wants to make a deal. It didn't sell at 999.00, and then he relisted it at $799.00 and it didn't sell.

Wonder what I could get it for? Its a Lola version though...

Lola version plays the same...get it!

Does it really matter Jow for you that it is the Lola version? I mean is it going to be a "Keeper" for your collection? Taxi is Taxi for gameplay no matter what version! :)

Is there a reason why you stay away from Data East pins? Give them a chance, there's alot of awesome D.E. pins out there!

This is a good point. I played the Marilyn version as a kid, but whats the difference between blonde hair and brown hair? I'll shoot him an email and see what he says.

Nothing. They got in trouble cause the blonde looked too much like Marilyn Monroe. So, they changed the girl.

Jow, visit IPDB.ORG. It's an amazing site.

Agreed.

Jurassic Park is a top 20 pin in my book. Back to the Future is fun, Guns 'n Roses is great, Tommy is good, and I really like the Data East Simpsons game.

I used to be like you; it's Williams/Bally or nothing! In fact Data East is my 2nd favorite manufacturer. I'm not sure why people told you stay away from them albeit some of their pins are hard to find parts for! To me Sega is the bastard child of the pin world! You really should try Jurrasic Park & Guns n Roses!

Yes, I noticed those two show up in the top 50 at ipdb.org.

I am basing my opinion on no experience at all. I am just in love with my Whirlwind so much. I just love the guys that made those pins in the 80s and 90s. Lawlor, Ritchie, Youssi, Gomez, etc. So my view is narrow and I am getting really into the history of them. They are cool to me and I have found my System 11 very easy to work on and find parts. Taxi is System 11 too.
