Thoughts on High Speed

If the playfield isn't trashed, I'd personally pay that much for one - it's one I've been hunting for myself. Does it have the light that goes on the head, displays all working, and otherwise complete? If so, and again it doesn't have a trashed playfield, I think that's a fair price.

Sounds about right. When I was looking they were around (but under) a grand in nice shape.
I played the hell out of this when it was new, and it was originally the pin I planned to buy second after Pinbot.

I played a nice High Speed at Allentown and didn't find it as fun as I had remembered.
I bumped it back on the Want list and got a Taxi instead. Want to get a Space Shuttle next, then I'll revisit High Speed. Guess what I'm trying to say is that if you loved the game in the 80s and its been a while since you played it, try and play a few games before you drop the dough.

the boards are worth 400 ish

cab and PF condition would determine the remaining

not a great deal but not a bad one either
personally, i would pass only because of the amount of projects i have

in my book, that game is worth about 40 games and then im ready for a something else

I whould of paid $600 in a heartbeat for a High Speed in that condition. I paid $1200 for mine and it's almost in mint condition.

$600, especially for a working and complete game with decent cosmetics, is a steal. Grab it. Or sell it to me, I have an NOS backglass just dying for a game.

Run away, that is a rip off. It's worth no where near that much.

Can I get the sellers number so that I can complain about his price? :D

I'd snag that pin without a second thought

I bought mine a few years ago for $750, and it needed quite a bit of work. I haven't seen another one locally for less than $1000. If the playfield is nice, I would buy it for that price just to see if it turned out to be nicer than the one I have now.

Yeah, $600 is a great price.

HS was my first pin and I believe I paid $750 for it, unshopped, with mylar and playfield wear elsewhere, and chipped plastics. Looking forward to the CPR playfield repros.

Great game and great piece of arcade history, credited in part for bringing back pinball. Not the deepest and I wouldn't hang onto it as my only pin. So I made space for 11 more. *blush* But it isn't leaving any time soon.

Get it!

Are you talking about Allentown 2011? If so that one was mine :)

I'd jump on a HS at that cost pending wear on the playfield.

Yes Pinball Wizard. Thanks for bringing it! I only got to play it a couple times. Three or four games at the end of the row your machine was in kicked off. Not sure if they were tripping circuit breaker or what.

Thinking of taking day off Friday and going... Schedule Looks like it's going to be a full day. Hoping Friday is less crowded, Allentown was nuts on the weekend.
