Thoughts on Fish Tales! Need your input

That's how I used to feel...it's grown on me slightly...my brain goes back and forth between catchy/charming and *GLARGH* annoying! Anyway, I'm about to shop one out and give it a fair go in my collection. We'll see if it becomes a keeper or trade-bait. There's a lot to like about it. Fun, colorful artwork, fast and fun shots...I LOVE the criss-crossing boat ramps and the sound FX it makes when you combo them.

I just played one for the first time this weekend. I liked it a lot and agree on the crossing boat ramps. The sound effect is pretty sweet.

I enjoy this pin and so does every other casual pinball player that stops by my place.

My FT runs pretty solid except the reel is finicky... sometimes multi-ball only fires out two balls and the third gets stuck in the reel.

Do you have a rubber on the wheel, or the actual drive belt (transparent, not that stretchy)? A rubber will screw it up and cause balls to get stuck.

I just finally got mine shopped out and dialed in. Now that I've had some time on it and understand the rules, I really love playing this game! A real shooters game...every shot counts and builds you up toward something cool. The multiball jackpots are fun and challenging. The game just feels smoooooooth. Wasn't sure it would be a keeper...but I think it might be.

You got it!!! What was there was solid black weak rubber belt!!! I had purchased a replacement drive belt a long time ago... I put it on tonight and it works like a champ!!!!

Hadn't played in a while and really was missing it! Nothing kills a pin more than sub-par operation! Your post motivated me to dig for the replacement belt and get it done!

Huzzah! I put my belt on today, too. I shopped out the game, but that wheel wasn't working quite right. I looked in the manual and was surprised to find a Part # and not a standard rubber. It had a rubber when I got the game, so I just assumed....it's always a learning experience with these games!

A new rubber will work fine, but a belt is the way to go. Clean the optos whilst your at it, they are allways filthy, will give issues. That's really the only thing to watch-out on FT, its almost bullet-proof really.

I tried different rubber...white, black, different sizes...all resulted in the wheel not aligning properly. The correct part is only a few bucks....no biggie.

Another issue is the ball gate right at the top of the playfield. If the ball doesn't hit the switch properly on the way by the outer loops, the gate won't lift at the right time.

yep, every FT I've had suffered that top RHS rollever switch not working properly, resulting in a failed long cast. Not easy to adjust, as setting it too high results in the ball getting stuck, too low and it wont register. I have had 3 FTs, and they all had normal rubbers for the reel. Only one had issues with the rubber though, but that rubber was flogged. My current FT has a rubber, I have the proper belt for it, but wont bother changing until it gives issue.
