Hi all!

What do you guys think about this machine? I've only seen
pics and videos of it, and I think it's a very good looking machine.

However, I'm afraid that the playfield action may be restricted to
the bottom half, like, under the ship in the middle. It seems that
hitting the paths to get the ball up on the upper half is difficult..

...or maybe it's just me.

Any thoughts on this game is very welcome!!

Thanks!

Nicholas

Keep in mind that difficult isnt necessarily BAD. I used to love this game. I havent played it in a long time though. Wish i could. :p

Gone fishin' be right back :)
fun game, kinda campy...
Only you can tell if you like it ;)
always a market for it tho, so as long as you don't overspend on it, you'll have no trouble selling it if it doesn't work for ya.

cheers
/Tim

No many machines flow like Fishtales, and it's really fast as well. Yes the concept is kinda simple, but the modes are done so very well, plus they stack, put simply it rocks! Family freindly, yes the flapping fish can be annoying, so just unplug it in the backbox. It's in my top 3 games of all time. Oh, and its ultra-reliable. If you get sick of it, you can sell it quicker than most titles.

I wouldnt say that whitewater was redneck or hick. However I just dont get whitewater, whereas anyone can have a blast on Fishies.

Far easier to check the ratings and comments on ipdb and pinside than to post a generic opinion request here for a well-known game. You'll get a lot more info, and quicker.

The very first thing that comes to mind on Fish Tales? The playfield gets worn down very very easily. In no time you will have wear around the fish.

Second thing that comes to mind is that fish topper blows. Really really wasted space. ;)

Third thing is its a fun game with very limited shots. There isn't a lot to shoot at, and is a little shallow, but still a very fun game.

Fish Tales is my first pin. Had it a year and still can't walk by it w/o playing. It's a hit with friends, kid friendly, challenging and will never leave my collection. There's a lot going on during a game. Lot's of things to shoot for (monster fish, rock the boat, video mode, etc) and a great theme for a basement family room.

It's in my collection to stay.

Ok thanks for the replies so far!

I'm looking for options, you see. I have a Mousin' Around that will
be replaced by a new machine...in the same vein. Cartoony, humor,
bright and sort of happy:)

I bought mine a little over a year ago. I still enjoy it, and it is a fun game. Guests seem to really like it. It's not deep from a ruleset stand point, but there is enough to do to keep you entertained. I figured I would end up selling it to get something else, but it's still here. I might sell it eventually, to get one with a nicer playfield, but for the most part mine is in decent enough shape.

I would say if the price is right, pick one up.

Fish Tales has the worst music of any pin that I've ever played. Made me want to rip my ears out.

I enjoy the heck out of FT. Fast play, does not forgive missed shots too well. I love the music and the topper, some do not.

That's how I used to feel...it's grown on me slightly...my brain goes back and forth between catchy/charming and *GLARGH* annoying! Anyway, I'm about to shop one out and give it a fair go in my collection. We'll see if it becomes a keeper or trade-bait. There's a lot to like about it. Fun, colorful artwork, fast and fun shots...I LOVE the criss-crossing boat ramps and the sound FX it makes when you combo them.

My favorite pin ever. I was worried I would be annoyed but I love everything about fish tales!

I too like the music.the fish noise was annoying to me until I put an adhesive black pad between the coil plunger back and the bracket.I have not lit up all of the tackle box items in a game so it makes it a challenge every game trying to master all types of fishing in multiball.

I enjoy this pin and so does every other casual pinball player that stops by my place.

My FT runs pretty solid except the reel is finicky... sometimes multi-ball only fires out two balls and the third gets stuck in the reel.
