Just looking to collect some personal anecdotes regarding experience with Bally Rapid Fire.

There is one locally that is being listed for $250.

Game looks like it would be a neat game to add to my gameroom.
However, I have never played a single game on it.

Any of you that have played it, what are your thoughts on adding it to a gameroom with 10+ pins, 4 video games and a Big Ball Bowler?

I plan to go check it out tomorrow and give it a test drive myself.

But in the mean time, please provide some personal opinions on the game.

Thanks!

Marcus

VERY loud machine. Common breakdown point is the screw lift that brings balls back to the guns.

I saw that ad too, but I live in a tiny place, way too loud.... can barely even tolerate my normal machines right now my hearing is super sensitive since I've been sick. Sucks. :| Also, my collection isn't really big enough to accomodate the space for a game like this that's very niche. It would definately fare better in a big collection with a mix of games, IMO.

Gameplay reminds me of that old Crossfire board game from late 80's/early 90's, but without the physical object in the middle of the playfield. Hasn't this specific machine been listed four or five times for 500-ish on the local CL? Guess the guy is finally tired of putting it back up...

I haven't had a chance to actually play one, but have been wanting to for a while. Lemme know what you think after you play it. Was hoping there was going to be one at TPF, or it's cousin...can't remember the name.. :|

The cousin is Williams Hyperball.

I'll let you know tomorrow if I grabbed the game.

If it is too loud, I'm going to pass.

Its loud and boring

One game is all I can play before moving on. And I own one ;) Why do I still have it? I ask myself all the time.

Wow no love for this on RGP either I see.. not even worth the 250 in parts according to them, sheesh.

Loud Loud Loud.

I finally got mine up and running, time to sell it.

Hyperball is the one with the screw lift BTW, Rapid Fire has a wheel to lift them.

Not sure what to going rate is these days for the boards and displays but I'd think you could get $250 out of them?

Ah, good to know. Figure they're so similar they'd use the same type of mech to retrieve the balls.

Rapid Fire is known as "Operation Xerox" as it's literally just Hyperball by Bally. I enjoyed owning Hyperball. It's loud, but I would own one again. They are VERY affordable, which is always nice. Cool game if you really get into and try to play. Not a good casual game - you have to know how to play and go for it.
