A friend just sold me his Theater of Magic pinball machine. What are everybody's thoughts on this pinball? I haven't fully checked it out yet but I got a good price and it booted up with no problems. The shooter rod was missing and one of the solenoids isn't popping up all the way but I figure when I clean it up, I can fix most of those things. Does this machine have any special shooter rod or is it a standard WMS one?

Are there any cliffy protectors that are recommended for this machine? What should I check out to make sure everything is working ok? Any mods that I might want to do that will improve gameplay?

I've had my Theatre of Magic for 8 years now and still love it!! Just a fantastic pin! And yes, turn up the volume! I hooked an external sub to mine (A sunfire lol) Wow!!

The trunk and the trapdoor seem to be the trouble spots on TOM. I had one for awhile, and it is a fun game. There is a spinning saw blade kit available for this machine, adds a near effect to the machine.

Machine works but is missing a shooter rod? Seems odd to me but congrats on the pickup its a great game.

The rod is there but it was removed from the machine - I'm not sure all what's wrong but it looks to be in pretty good shape. Are there any cliffy protectors or certain mods worth doing that will help protect the game?

Man I dropped a TON of quarters into that machine, and the times I do find pins in the wild its the first one I go for.
It seems to me IIRC the trap door is problematic...

Awesome game, one of my top five pins to play. I can pretty much play all the top Williams games within a couple miles of me, and I seek this one out more than some of the more "popular" titles. Very similar to TOTAN, which is my current fave.

Great score! I hope all is well.
