Those with Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy: monitor option question in main menu

What does yours say? This menu makes me believe it's not set to med. res, but manual is a bit confusing. I looked at another one yesterday and it said the same and didn't appear to be normal resolution but did have the same setting as this one:

Thanks to anyone that can confirm if there's is the same or not. Ctozzi has been very helpful thus far but just want to make sure this is the setting it should be if it is in fact running Med. res. When he changes the dip setting to ON, it goes to nothing on the screen.... He says it is a WG K7500 in there.

Timely thread, thanks, I need to look up mine.. I didn't see it in the monitor options when I was poking around last. I have the same type monitor as you. Is there an arcade VGA monitor out there?

Thanks!

Yeah thats right. I do have to mention, that if you ever get a monitor that supports VGA, it really makes this game scream graphically. I am still on my WG7500 in the game, but I test drove the game on a VGA monitor, and it makes me want to die.

Really? It's dramatically better on VGA?

I have a tri-sync monitor in mine but have never tried it beyond med res.

there are trisync monitors that should work. Not sure if there is a vga only monitor out there.

It was a few years ago when I did it, so my mind may be pushing it past what it really was, but if my memory is good, then ya, it was fantastic! If you already have the tri-sync, I would at least try it out.

I may try it as an experiment but it also needs to work with my NBA Jam boards w/o throwing any jumpers or changing the connection so I doubt I'll be able to keep it that way. :)

Worth a shot though.

Thanks guys for posting this. I tried this in VGA mode and the graphics looks way better than standard res. I'm using an old CRT 17" PC monitor. It also worked on my lcd tv but it didn't look as good as my other monitor.

Way better than standard res or medium res? The former, yeah, I could see that. The latter -- not sure.

LOL. You're going to make me set the game/monitor in standard, med, and vga to compare it, aren't you? :)

Only if you want to. Hehe. :)
I am curious if the med res retains the scanlines, because VGA mode doesn't.
