Literally every single time I go browsing through the arcade listings on Craigslist/Ebay I find something that makes me laugh audibly. I have become a huge fan of scanning ads for ridiculousness as a time-wasting activity, and threads along those lines are my favorite thing about this subforum.

So I'm just gonna make a thread for my own findings and bump it when I come across a new gem.

(This isn't exactly or necessarily going to be "hellcade" material, so it doesn't quite fit there.)

"Here we have a nice Donkey Kong Cocktail arcade game, It is made of metal so it will last forever. It is in mint condition and the screen is perfect, it is actually a Donkey Kong Jr. machine but I put a DK board in it. I have both boards and will sell it as either or both...... Put it in your business and earn quarters!"

"NINTENDO 1982-DONKEY KONG JR. SIT-DOWN ARCADE GAME. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL DONKEY KONG JR GAME AND HAD BEEN RESTORED. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WORKS PERFECTLY. THE ASKING PRICE ID $1,000.00 DOLLARS OBO. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY."

I like how they took special care to get a shot of the ball-less joystick to showcase their restoration efforts.

Or by "HAD BEEN RESTORED" do they mean, "had been restored at some point in the past", and then the joystick ball came off, and the instruction stickers got sun-bleached, and the monitor lost focus?

thats my guess. maybe the guy who sold it to him said it had been restored at some point. its not that outrageous, nothing compared to "its made of metal so it will last forever" LOL!!!

"iv had this arcade game sense i was 5 got it from my dad i love it but honestly i need the money an dont have room for it. Great for a man cave! everything works plus it plays the theme to rocky so pretty much you need this!! im asking 1000$ or trade for something of equal awsomeness an value. DO NOT contact me with a different arcade or some bullshit.

You heard the man, no "bullshit". He needs the money. Why else would anyone part with this? Oh, but, he's willing to trade for something.

This isn't really on topic, but whatever since it's my thread, can somebody post the version of this picture with the macro on it, and it says something like "Typical KLOVer -- 'I paid half for mine and it was in mint condition!'"

I saw it once and couldn't find the thread again, but I died when I saw it.

Cocktail Arcade Ms Pacman - $400

"Call me at 925-339-four229 to set up a time to come see, please no low ballers, if you know your games, you know this is a cheap price, pricing to move it. Game is located in Dublin Ca, have a table top Ms Pacman, Will need to some board repair or a new one, there are boards that will give you other games as well so Im not buying the new one or having this one repaired, but have had it professionally looked at and can provide you with a top rate repairman who fixes them for a living. Cabinet and monitor work good, coin slot with key operational, very nice and rare game, cheap price."

I always love the ones that get halfway through the listing before telling you it's broken, while implicitly insulting you and engaging in some some solid, pre-emptive defensiveness.

Who'll be the lucky SOB to walk away with the oh-so-"rare" (broken) Ms. Pac Man cocktail for the "cheap" price of $400?? Whose day will be blessed with this gentle soul's sunny disposition?

Aren't any large pics of that guy around. Did the best I could:
