What does the sticker on the square 44 pin PLCC chip say on your middle PCB(A-22560 or A-22912) and what game are you running on your boardset(Gauntlet Legends, Dark Legacy, War, Sportstation or NBA Showtime??)

Well I was kinda worried that some boards with different part numbers couldn't run all the games. But I think there are some jumpers on the board that change to run games like legends

Rush 2049 runs on Vegas hardware too. Let me go look...

Got it.

San Francisco Rush 2049: A-22912

I think 2049 runs on Denver hardware right?

Riddle me this: What's the difference? The two look nearly identical.

-E- the RM5000 that System16 claims doesn't match up with our machines -- they have RM7000s and say as much on the POST screen. The Voodoo3 lines up though.

Things just got complicated. In any case, they're essentially sister hardwares with very very similar boardsets.

I can check 5 more pcbs if you need it.. (2 gauntlets, dark legacy, converted showtime and ??(sportstation now))

I have handy
showtime a22912

the sound I/O card on rush says denver on it. The others say vegas777 on the sound I/O. Maybe the cpu board is the same?

I'm going to try running Gauntlet Legends on my Cart Fury boards soon. I'm waiting on a couple blank EPROM's to burn a boot chip. I've got a security and sound chip from a parts board, and a retail Voodoo2 video card. I'm planning on throwing it into a JAMMA candy cab for a 2 player game.

I have no idea if it will work, but I'm going to try. Any extra info on what else I may need to get it going would be appreciated. I did see the YouTube videos where someone got it to run with a retail Voodoo2, although the card I have isn't the same brand. I'll also be setting the dips for using a JAMMA harness and 8 way sticks.

Well I've noticed that the Vegas 777 and the Durango boards look very similar..
The Durango will not run Legends or Tenth Degree.
If you look at the white printed letters on the side where the video card connects to you will either see Midway Games and a part number plus Vegas 777 or you will just see Durango (if the sticker isnt covering it).

Well that sucks. I just checked, and my board says Durango. So you're saying I might as well not try to run Legends on it? Bang goes that plan.

Hmm... searching around I found a thread that mentions the Durango and that there were dedicated Dark Legacy games that used it. A MAME page shows that the Dark Legacy and Cart Fury setups used the same CPU and I/O boards, but different video boards. I wonder if I could run Dark Legacy on it if Legends won't work.

why would you want to convert a rare board into a common one?

If you can't make your cart fury into gauntlet, make it into blitz showtime and sell it or trade it.

Assuming he still has it. Check the date of the post just above yours. Best bet would be to PM the poster as he may not wander into this tread again.

LOL!

At the time I was converting the Cart cabinet to run Xbox360 racing games and was going to take the original boards out once I got it working. I never could get the steering to work right, even though I was pretty sure I was using the right value pots.

I ended up putting the cab back to stock and selling it on.
