I won this Geiger counter off ebay for $10. Its a "Precision" Model 107C from the mid- 1950's.

Perfect fit for the Emergency Line Booth. It even came with the original wand, headphones, manual, and carrying case. It has just the right amount of rust and dirt on it to fit right in. Strangely enough, the inside is clean. I bet if I had the right battery it would work.

I mounted it on a hinge so a person can easily remove it, put it in the carrying case and check for buried uranium somewhere on "The Lost Highway" if needed....

Also, I added "power" to one side of the booth. I ran wire(garage door cable) from the north end utility pole to the rubber insulators on the booth, and then down into the back of the emergency line phone. Gives the booth a different look now that there might be power to the Frankenstein looking thing.

I will add 2 more insulators to the other side of the booth and run wire to the south end utility pole later this week.

There are about 10-12 home gamerooms through this group that I can instantly recognize because they carry a very obvious theme. This is one of 'em. Everything in there just screams cool.

Looks nice. I have said this before but all the little things you and others add to their game rooms really makes the difference.
I look forward to your next addition.

Wow John, that thing is awesome! It fits the theme of your gameroom perfectly. If I ever get out to Minnesota I would love to see your place in person. A friend of mine recently moved to Burnsville, maybe I should pay him a visit... ;)

I really enjoy all your updates, keep them coming. You know what I'm most jealous about? You don't have to clean up any of your "decorations" - the dirtier the better!

Thanks for the comments fellas. DP, I'm 2 hours(roughly) south of Burnsville, wouldn't be too far out of the way if you ever make it to this neck of the woods. You're certainly welcome, and just PM me if you ever make the trip!

Damn, Gorf! I swear you crawl into my head and pluck out my ideas before i can use them! The Lost Highway is now way more atomic than my Atomic Arcade, Your constant cool updates are just kicks in my butt telling me to get to work! You're doing a great job. I need to get moving. Always look forward to the new additions!

that is flat out awesome, john! way cooler than the yellow one i saw at that antique store... at this point, all you need is an old, tired henry jones jr. in there and i'd say you're pretty good.

I've got a decent array of weird things in every corner of my arcade. I've convinced myself that anything is possible on the Lost Highway; so adding just about anything is ok in my book!

And hey, get to work! We'd all love to see pics of your setup....

I really liked the look of this one; silver but with the beat up "old and abandoned" look. A yellow one just wouldn't of cut it. Glad you like it....

Gorf, looking sweet as always! Next time I check you'll probably have some sort of downed plane or something in your gameroom with one of those scary guys around it :)

If I could pull off the nose of a plane coming out of one wall I would. I've thought about that a number of times! Another mural will be more realistic, though. I've got one all laid out....

Nice work Johnny. I love the whole Atomic Age/Area 51 vibe your arcade is giving off. Now you need an old partially lighted diner sign swinging from crossbar with a couple bulbs out and a few on the way out. Throw in a little Route 66(6) curve into the highway.

Thanks Phet. Between your arcade and mine we'll have plenty to talk about on saturday.....
