I won this Geiger counter off ebay for $10. Its a "Precision" Model 107C from the mid- 1950's.
Perfect fit for the Emergency Line Booth. It even came with the original wand, headphones, manual, and carrying case. It has just the right amount of rust and dirt on it to fit right in. Strangely enough, the inside is clean. I bet if I had the right battery it would work.
I mounted it on a hinge so a person can easily remove it, put it in the carrying case and check for buried uranium somewhere on "The Lost Highway" if needed....
Also, I added "power" to one side of the booth. I ran wire(garage door cable) from the north end utility pole to the rubber insulators on the booth, and then down into the back of the emergency line phone. Gives the booth a different look now that there might be power to the Frankenstein looking thing.
I will add 2 more insulators to the other side of the booth and run wire to the south end utility pole later this week.
