I picked this up over the weekend. This was on eBay last week and I struck a deal with the seller. Nice guy who just started collecting a few months ago.

It's in amazingly good shape and all original except for the joystick. It's also remotely possible that the coin box came from another Nintendo Game (typically they these 5-slot cabs come with a white front on the coinbox).

Looks like its first home was in the Time Out Arcade at Crossroads Mall in Roanoke. The guy I bought it from found it by using a Craigslist want add. He says the guy he purchased it from has had it for well over 20 years. After playing it for 10 years or so the monitor went out and they put it in storage where it's been sitting. I can't believe how clean the cab is.

It's a really nice reference for how these would have come from Nintendo. This was one of the early DKs that were converted from Radar Scopes by Nintendo of America. I still need to get it working!

HO-LEE-COW that cab is in nice shape.

Yeah, the even the back edges are nice and sharp! I think the PCB is going to need some work though. I may be checking with you about getting on your waiting list.

yeah those red dk cabs run $1-1.5k easily all day anyday over the boring blue popeye cabs that were used for dk's

Amazing score! Some of us down here in the Carolinas had been watching that - Glad it when to someone who appreciates the Nintendo stuff!

I've been waiting for one like this for about 5 years and it was only about 1hr 45 min from me so I made him an offer that was probably way more than fair.

I may eventually sell my Red TKG3. It's got tons of touch-up work which always bothered me but it's quite presentable.

Sweet grab. I bought a DK cocktail for $50 and used the harness and board to get mine up and running was converted to a Vs.

Cant wait to see it running

You got this in Lynchburg right?

Yes. Seller actually mentioned you I think. Maybe he bought a game from you? I know he mentioned Bedford. It stuck out to me because I was on the way to Smith Mountain Lake one time for work and saw an arcade/pinball sign and later figured out that was you. At least, I think it was you. Ha.

Very sweet, congrats and welcome to the red DK club!

What's the serial number? Looks like 106**? :edit: nevermind, it was in the picture name - #10653

No side art, just like my #10498 and fuko's #10505. Is there any signs of side art once being there?

I've actually had my Red TKG3 (#1667) since 2010 but this brings me into the TKG2 club. This one is 10635.

No signs of any side art at all. I'll remove the monitor eventually and confirm. I'll have to double-check the spreadsheet but I think the sideart has mostly been on the TKG3s. I highly suspect that most of these early DKs just didn't have sideart.

Yeah I have that place in the center of town, I'm moving a few buildings down to a bigger space that has a bowling alley upstairs. Lmk if you want to check out the two warehouses full of games I got.
