This weekend brought home a Capcom Bowling. Since our old one was junk, and died 4 years ago we decided since we hadn't had one in a while, why not.

Really nice shape too.

Just one thing....it was a Pac Man cab. A solid one at that. Still has some yellow on the edges, and the paper stapled inside showing the settings for a Pac. CP has been altered too, but not bad.

So what do I call it? Pacbowl?

It's actually not bad looking for a hack job. Most operators would have just painted it black and left it w/o t-molding. I think its kinda cool.... I wouldn't keep it personally, but its not a mess at least.

It is clean work. Never seen one this chopped, but at least it's done decent.

Gonna keep it for a while until the thrill wears off arond here, and maybe kick it out the door later down the road...unless I can find one of these Coors Light marquees, and boardsets. That would be cool.

But for now, the kids like it. Works for me.

Wow that does look pretty cool - I'm starting to fix up a busted up Galaxian cab for a Capcom bowling conversion. Of course I could have bought one locally and saved mucho time and money but instead I'm doing it the hard way and saved a cabinet from the landfill. One monitor mount was ripped off and it's coming apart on the bottom board as usual. We fixed the monitor mount with fresh staples and gorilla glue, and gorilla glued part of the bottom board so far.

I'd love to find some of that wood grain vinyl for the cab, but I may make the sides black.

As conversions go, that's a hell of a good job. A moment of silence for Pacman of course, but props to the operator that didn't phone it in.

Mine is exactly the same...

This is a picture of mine before I put on a new CPO and cleaned the game up.

Looks like in picture 2 there is a time card punch clock - you clock in/out when working on/playing games? ;)

And the cabinet looks surprisingly cool. I have never seen a mod like that done.

I thought that I had heard somewhere that there was a kit for Pac/Galaxian cabs and it came with a template to modify the cab in this way.

i was just going to ask if they had a template.. those two cabs in the above posts are waaayy too similar to call that a coincidence.. someone was selling templates..

They look the same to me. Odd design with the sides cut that deep, but actually kind of cool. Kids were playing it tonight until I kicked them off to go to bed. Looks like it's gonna be a keeper for quite a while.

There just has to be a template for it though. All I have is basic instructions to convert it...from what cab it doesn't say though.

Anyone know the deal with that?

I actually like how that looks. I wonder if they were all done by the same op, I mean that seems like more work then the average game owner could have done back then.
