Quick background:

I worked for one of the largest Op's in the country at the Richmond branch. A couple of years ago I left them and the industry for another opportunity. I was informed that they would not be replacing my position (Service Manager) and were going to hire another tech.
The Service Managers duties were going to be absorbed by the General Manager.

So before I left, I stocked up the parts for all of our games, created an in-house inventory system and wrote ordering and service guidelines the GM could get a handle on this aspect of the business.

The techs did not work out and they eliminated those positions as well. They began to use distributors and tryed to train collectors for repairs and whatever they could not get repaired they shipped out to a warehouse in another state.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago:

The office was moved to another smaller location within the same industrial park. The company brought in a manager from another state (they no longer have a GM at each office) to oversee the move.

This superstar decided that they did not need as much of a parts inventory as they had and he had temp workers toss the following parts into a friggin dumpster durring the move:

(3) New Complete 27" Flat Screen Monitors
(3) New Bezels for above
(3) New 27" Tri-Sync Monitors
(2) New 25" Monitors
(1) New 25" Tube

Most of the video game parts as he had no clue as to what they were for including FF Motors, pots, belts, joysticks, power supplies etc.

All kiddie ride parts such as new motors, transmissions, belts, timer & sound boxes.

All Smart Crane parts (They no longer operate them).

All of these parts were new and most were ordered and stocked by myself. He probably tossed about $9000.00 worth of parts to the landfill.

What a waste. I told my contact that I have still there to call me if he decides to clean the rest of the parts counters off and I'll take them.

That is nuts!

That is downright heartbreaking! What kind of moron throws that kind of stuff away that is employed in this industry. I hear about ops throwing out old stuff, but those things sounds new and certainly don't sound like things that would not make the cut. Crazy.
