I was on a fixing spree, so I fixed a half-dozen k7000 chassis this week. I went over them, replaced faulty components and reflowed them.
Now I get to the testing part, they all worked fine except the last one I plugged in.
I power it up and I get the TPG screen, but the B+ is reading 160v. That's odd, usually the shutdown circuit would kick in, perhaps it's right on the edge.
I power it off, unplug the chassis and take a look, I make sure D10 is still installed, just in case.
I pull C57, stick into esr meter, tests good. Shit, must be the VR. Pull the VR, and replace it.
Plug it back in, power it on. What the heck, still getting a ~160v B+ but I have a picture. Pull the chassis again, look through everything, reflow a bunch more.
Plug it back in, still getting 160v B+.
Then I notice.
Someone had inverted the blue and red wires on R301, I was measuring the wrong side.
ARGH!
