Bought at a yard sale for $25 today. Dunno what's busted yet, but the guy said it didn't work.

Update #1:

And here's what was inside the $25 Top Speed...

-two quarts of motor oil (both about half full)
-half a pack of gum that didn't age well
-candy wrapper
-crumpled piece of paper
-crumpled paper towel
-a foam round thing
-a strap with a foam tube on the end

This stuff is all for trade, PM offers

I would consider trading my Earthshaker for the motor oil if you are interested. If you need cash plus the game I understand.

the old dreaded fuse...i guess it really is true sometimes....
i thought maybe they just put the wrong weight oil in it and it wouldn't start :)

Everything is working now besides the stearing wheel. It does not have the orginal sensor, it's a Happ replacement.. The wires were pulled off all the controls, it was easy enough reconnecting them since the harness is all intact. I'm thinking maybe the sensor is bad. I cleaned it real good and I can only go to the right now. Anyone know where I can get one?

Amazing that you got it running so well already, especially considering all the "bonus materials" you got with it. Just a fuse!

Yes, it is in remarkable shape for something full of garbage. Someone had goofed around with it, but not bad enough to really destroy anything. Other than hooking wires back up and this steering wheel issue, the only other problem is the pcb holders are all broken and the start button looks like someone bent it up with vice grips on the inside. Very few complaints. The guy and his friend even loaded it.

It looks like those are actually quarts of atomatic transmission fluid. ATF often runs a few more bucks than motor oil, so that will further help yiou recoup your $25 investment.

That being said, I'm currently OK with ATF, so I'll pass up a trade :004_sbiggrin:

Ha, I hardly looked at them. :)

That black thing with the red strap almost looks like a handle you'd use for water skiing. The foam cylinder I've used in the past to cover roll bars... that would be a very small roll bar.

nice score... Just looking at that cabinet makes my back hurt. Heavy much?:D

The thing with the strap is part of some kind of excercise device. It has the word "abs" on it. But moving that thing around seems to be more of a workout than the foam strap thing can provide. Yes it's damn heavy. Maybe that's why the guy insisted they load it, he really wanted it gone. It was a giant, heavy garbage can to him maybe?

I had one of those once. I didn't have to give money for it. I got it with 4 other games, the price if which was "give me one working monitor". Can't beat a deal like that. One of the other games was a F1 Super Battle in a Top Speed cabinet. Both had monitor problems (k7000s). One had a bad HOT and the other a bad voltage regulator (IIRC) so I was able to cannibalize one for the other. There was also some Konami soccer game cocktail table that I junked and sold the parts of. Also got a working Arlington Horse Racing (which donated the "price" monitor) and a working Relief Pitcher. I should have kept the Relief Pitcher, as it was the only game I thought was fun.

So, yeah, there was a Top Speed in all of that. Some guy bought it and the F1 for a gas station in a small town. All told, I made over $500 for coughing up one working 19" monitor.
