This is what a $34 pizza looks like. . .

good pizza is almost always cut in squares, which is the traditional way to cut it. shitty pizza hut/dominos type trash is cut in wedges for the sake of consistency. like organic vegetables and home cooking from scratch, many of life's finer pleasures feature variety and are not of the cookie cutter everything is the same style. the reason why they were originally cut into squares is because back in the day square pans were far more prevalent than round ones and cutting a square pizza into square slices made the most sense. also the pieces around the edge are usually more well done, and the different sized slices are good for people with varying appetites. also, on an extra large pie a huge wedge will flop and drop all the toppings off. i have worked in five pizza shops and hope to open my own pizzeria some day, with some video arcade games and pins of course! if i ever make it that far i will offer the customer the choice of how they want their pie cut.

Are you even aware what real pizza is? What the F*** are you talking about?

That pizza looks like it was destined for a child's birthday party, and the purchaser was too cheap to buy several pizzas. Next time you want to lecture the Internet about pizza, check your driver's license first and make sure it says NEW YORK on it.

/done.

I feel your pain. I just moved to Cali and there isn't shit for pizza out here, at least that I've found. They all cost 8x what I'm used to and taste like Sasquatch's nuts.

plenty of good pizza in CA although I don't know of any in your area.
Stand out places I can think of are

ciros sacramento CA
Lindas sacramento CA
Amici's bay area (multiple locations)
tony and Albas Cambell CA (i think not far from San Jose any how)

There are a number of others that are petty good as well
I often eat at Mary's pizza shack
Pizza my heart is also not bad

and when i get to Berkeley CA I like to hit up fat slice. A lot of people will take Blondies over fat slice but no matter which you like they are on the same street so you can hit either or both. This is cheap pizza that's definitely good for the price.

fuck new york, chicago has the best pizza.

Chicago Pie = Stack as much stuff as you can in to a bowl shaped crust and call it a pie...

NY Pie = "Proper" Pizza...

A pizza isn't about volume as it is PROPORTIONS. You gotta get the proportions of your toppings right.

That is a tiny pizza. We probably got these from the same place. They have more box supports though. :D

I've had pizza in Naples, and I agree. Amazing stuff.

Well that was a totally unexpected response. :tee: I was half expecting to get yelled at. :D

NY metro area folks are a passionate lot, especially when it comes to pizza.

I like pizza of all shapes and sizes, except when the tomato sauce is replaced by something that isn't red (what's the matter with you people?!) I've had great pizza in NYC. I've also had freaking amazing pizza in Chicago, and yes even here in Seattle if you know where to look. It's all good as long as it's made with care. :)

Chicago thin crust is usually cut in squares. If done right, it's an excellent pizza. I've always thought Chicago thin crust is better than NYC.

Everyone thinks Chicago pizza is just deep dish and that not the case.

There is really only one place in LA that attempts a proper deep dish - Taste Chicago in Burbank on Hollywood Way. And it's about $30 to start.

Is that really known as Chicago pizza though? I fought it was from St. Luis when it was thin and cut like that.
