This is the game I really want but everyone else takes a s#%t on thread!!

I don't know that I've ever really heard any positive feedback on Willow here. I have mine, and everyone who plays it at my house likes it, but tend to compare it to similar side scrolling games on NES or similar home consoles. No respect!

After SFII, Willow is probably my next favorite CPS1 game. I dropped a lot of quarters in it as a kid. I loved the movie and the game was just unique and awesome. Character changes between stages, side scrolling action, RPG-like features, etc.

I hope to one day find the PCB and art to place into a Dynamo HS-1 or something along those lines. But for the life of me, I've never been able to find the PCB on sale for a decent price. I think there's a Japanese version on ebay for like $200+ which is ridiculous.

I agree with you though. I think most guys don't know, remember or care for the game. I'm jealous you have it. Do you have a picture? What cab is yours in? :)

OMFG Willow and it's weird value issue. I remember the price for this game jumped for some reason around the early 2K's. Before that it was much easier to find for an average random JAMMA board price...partially because there weren't a ton of JAMMA board collectors in the 90's. I don't remember the why, however, when it comes to the price increase (actually...I think it was a mystery then as well). If I had to guess: maybe not many made? I dunno. I saw, like, 3-4 sitting in conversions in various arcades when the game was new. Possibly artificial price inflation? I mean...did Willow really have that big of a following?

I assume pins are fair game for this thread...my favorite guilty pleasure is "Genesis", or any Gottlieb Premiere pin for that matter. :) But Genesis wins for worst translite artwork ever.

Oh. If we're talking pins, my Street Fighter II. People seriously dump on that game, but it's pretty unique for pinball. Very stop n' go, but clever considering the theme. The backglass, however, is really ugly (ugliest Chun-Li ever...plus Ryu's junk lovingly rendered by, I am guessing, someone that did not like Street Fighter...or the people that liked Street Fighter...or Gottlieb...).

Every pinball I end up liking at my local league winds up getting hated by everyone else and eventually swapped out as well. Bad Cats. Terminator 3. Johnny Mneumonic...

Anything that is in a wood grain cabinet. There's no love for wood grain cabinets, but I don't mind them that much. I purposely put my Mr. Do in one because the one that I played at the local sub shop looked like that. This is within reason though -- some games just shouldn't be in anything other than the cabinet they were originally supposed to be in. I couldn't put 720 or something in a woody.

I picked up my oddball "grail" (Time Traveler) over the Summer. People say it's a shitty game. They are wrong.

The only other one would maybe be a 3-player Moonwalker... but I don't know if I'd actually buy one if the opportunity came up. Yeah, I probably would.

Rampage World Tour.

They say it's too repetitive. I play it, and play it. I still don't believe them.

Also The Nintendo Vs system 4 player cocktail.

When I show photo's on one, I've heard "Microwave oven, BBQ grill and Fugly Pay TV". But all and all, I still want one.

Pit Fighter! I think it's a pretty badass game, my brother used to play it for hours on the Genesis. I dumped quite a few credits into it at the arcade as well, I thought the digitized characters were pretty damn cool, same thing about Primal Rage. KI2 is also one of those games people seem to dump on, KI is cool but KI2 does it for me.

I haven't heard of people dumping on Willow, I've always thought it was a pretty cool game, that's the reason I bought mine. :)

Haha I used to play Pit Fighter quite a bit back in the day too. I once spent like $10 in quarters trying to beat the thing. I have a pit fighter pcb and I admit to using it as a guinea pig if I need a pcb for test purposes.

A game I had wanted for a while that most here would take a shit on has to be WWF Superstars. I found one in the dedicated cabinet last year, but I'm sure most here would be ready to convert the thing to a multi-game or whatever. :D

I'm not one of them. I'm sure you remember my wtb thread trying to collect all the artwork for my Superstars cab. 80's WWF is a guilty pleasure of mine...and anything with Macho Man is bonus points in my book. Hence wanting the Superstars cab and not the Wrestlefest. It's just sitting on the backburner for now. Also picked up a Wrestlefest PCB so I can run both in that cab.

Mine is Alien Syndrome by Sega.

I initially got it for 20 bucks, needed a new monitor and a power supply, I initially was going to turn it into something else, as when I played it on Mame, it wasn't really fun.

However, after people on this forum said it was a cool cabinet and that I should try to restore it since it was the official Sega version. Well I got the PCB finally working, installed a new ISO, power supply and monitor. Bought the Alien Eye's topper that mounts up top, and out of all my cabs, it gets the most compliments. However, i'm about the only one that plays it, as if you use the default setting, it is a pretty hard game. 3 guys, 7 levels. No continues and no way to earn more guys....

Again, I hated it at first, but after I got it all up and running, it's been one of the games I play the most. And I like it more and more...lol...even though it's hard.

Saw a "dedicated" Superstars on CL not that long ago in my area. White cabinet if I recall correctly, looked kinda strange.

I have wrestlefest and superstars PCBs that are going in the same cab along with Champion Wrestler, and 3 other 2 button wrestling game sI can think of some day.

Yeah I was a huge Hulk Hogan fan as a kid so the late 80's and early 90's WWF was my era. I'm sure I said this in another thread, but I remember going to a live event and seeing the game advertised in the program. I spent a lot of time looking at the pictures and hoping to see it in an arcade, which of course I finally did.

I consider mine dedicated because it's the same cabinet as pictured on the flyer and it matches the cabinet dimensions given in the manual. It's extremely likely Dynamo or someone produced the cabinet, but to me it's still dedicated since it shipped as a complete game from the factory. It's not a typical Dynamo style cab like a cut corner either. I can't say I've seen a lot of other games use it.

I distinctly remember an Alien Syndrome in the local Aladdin's Castle, back when it was probably new. I thought it was pretty fun, but someone let out the secret that it would accept nickels, in addition to the tokens. I played it with nickels quite a few times.

I am glad to hear you found a topper and that you are getting into the game. At first blush, it's not great, but it does grows on most people as you saw. :)
