I have a 1978 sharp shooter pinball, works great except the right flipper. I replaced the coil and the new one had a resister on it and everytime I hit the flipper it would short out,. hmmmm ok, I removed the resister and the flipper did not blow the fuse, it just got lazy...would move very slow, but had no power.

Checked my wiring. think it's wired right, now I have no spark at the eos.

this is supposed to be picked up today, so pleaase help.

You need to check that diode, but, and I'm not dissin' ya, you probally wired the coil backwards. Very easy to do! Look at the flipper coil, if it has 3 wire tabs then look for the fine wires going to them. One tab will have a larger wire, one a smaller wire, and the other both wires. You must wire it correctly, look at the other flipper coil for help. If it only has two tabs you still must wire it correctly with the stripe on the diode being your guide for wire placement. Good luck.

Probally was a resistor, when I ordered a new coil it came on it...none on the working one in there now.

I did check the wiring, seems there are 2 different leaf springs and they are not the same, I gave a thought to that.

The working one seems to be a leaf spring with the contact points on the top and bottom, the other one I think is original has contact points side to side...2 wires running to the coils, both white, attached to side and center posts on the coil.

6 volts on all points...and some sloppy soldering...

The wire from the cabinet flipper switch goes to the larger( thicker) of the two wires on the coil. The common wire that supplies power to both coils goes to the terminal with the thinner wire, which also has a wire going to the "leaf spring". The other "leaf spring" wire goes to the terminal that has both thick and thin coil wires on it. The "leaf spring" switches should be making contact when the flipper is not activated and open up when it is. How many stripes on the resistor 1 white or 3-4 multi colored?

Thanks evryone, ya hit it right on the head, 2 wires from the eos switch were wrong, I traded places and away she went!!!!

And now she is on her way to her new home...
