So, right now I have alot of more "real" issues in my life, and really have no interest in the Collecting scene - at the moment.
so I am THINKING of selling the collection. But Id sell it as a lot - or maybe in multiples of games. Most of my games are in decent shape and playable. I have a couple that are in mid restoration, and can provide pics if there is Truly an interest.
Let me say I WONT sell individual games at this moment. I really have no desire to haggle and nickle dime these away 1 by 1.

Games :
Millipede (with braze multi)
Marble madness
Pole position II
Tempest
Asteroids Deluxe
Toobin
Battlezone.
Tapper (freeplay mod)
Wako (rebuilt ball)
Tron (freeplay mod & movie marquee)
Gorf (works - not playable - needs boards redone)
Satans Hollow (freeplay mod)
Space invaders Deluxe
Journey
Bump n Jump (playable - rough cab - neds bottom rebuilt)
Ms pacman (late machine speedup hack)
Bosconian (freeplay hack)
Qbert (swearing Marquee)
Operation Wolf
Karate champ (works - needs overlay and bezel - Joust cab)
Joust 2 (has graphic anomalies until warmed up - ram?)
Jrok Multi in a Joust cab
Sinistar (jrok board)
Time Pilot 84
Gyruss (freeplay/hs kit)
Hypersports (correct cab needs resto)
Track and Field
Vangaurd
Mr&mrs Pacman pinball
Punch out - (working needs cab resto)
Donkey Kong Jr.
Monaco GP mini (works kinda with graphical anomalies)
Mr do wild ride project - in a solid cab - just started converting
I do have 1 more newer game (late 90s) as well, but Ill have to see if its available before including.
I also have a working backup 6100 for the tempest and a v2000 for the battlezone or ast dlx. I have working backup boards for a few games as well - ast delux, gyruss, TP84 and a few totes full of misc parts/monitors, etc.

So about 30 games working - overall decent shape. Some more collectible than others - hence y just wanting to sell as a lot.

so PM me with any serious inquiries or offers - dont ask for a price please. I have a price in mind - but kinda want to see what some realistic offers are before I get to hot and heavy on investing pics and such to get rid of these.
thanks!
Jeff

I think we all hit highs and lows during our collecting period. I would suggest perhaps making a list of the games you "really" like and sell off the rest. Pretty tough to get somebody to come up with enough coin to pay for 30 games+. You might reconsider the onesies twosies. Me, I'm out of space and cash.

Just a thought - while I understand the desire to be done all at once, you should consider that you'll probably leave money on the table if you sell the lot all at once. Not many folks can make a reasonable offer on a collection of that size, (heck, most of us can't make a reasonable offer on more than one cab at a time!). With a limited number of buyers (most of whom will be looking to re-sell), you're not going to get as much money as if you sell them individually yourself.

I'm not saying you shouldn't sell as a lot, just make sure you are OK with getting less than full market value for the collection.

I don't understand why you don't sell them separately, or why anyone who is trying to get out of the hobby doesn't just sell them separately.

You limit the amount of prospective buyers to basically resellers and only ones with lots of money, so that limits it even more.

Collectors won't go after these in bulk, so you end up LOSING money.

I would say minimum of "2" should be your rules, because people can combine shipping and such, but that's just me...if I tried to sell my stuff in bulk I would lose a lot of money myself...I'm interested in a couple of games so I will PM you..

Nice collection..if you were selling one, two or even three at a time I might have been interested. Good luck.

I understand it completely. I hate selling stuff; to the point that I would rather take way less than market value just to get it over with. If parabolic is not a seller, he might feel similarly. There is a huge difference in the way sellers and hobbyists think.

I was gonna play some tp84 to lift my spirits, but for some reason it doesn't remember my high scores anymore?!

Jeff,
Not sure what is going on, but I wish the best for you. I hope nothing has happened to the family, the games can go, but not the family. Im actually surprised to see that you listed all your games on the page as well, I would have thought that a few games would be left back in the corner like the Journey.

For the rest, im not sure Jeff's reasoning behind selling all the games, or why he would want to do it all at once, but there are a few things that i can think of to make it understandable as to why he is selling all at once.

Money may not be a issue, I doubt it, but it might not be) but when you are thinking of getting out of something that you put so much time, labor, energy, money, etc Sometimes you might just want a clean break and be done, so the fact that you might lose money selling it as a group, it might be worth the hit to just be done.

Another scenario (not saying this it what is with Jeff) But if you had something happen to you like with the mortgage collapse where you have to come up with a huge baloon payment to keep your house, selling one and two games might not make a dent into what you need to come up with. So you just say to yourself, all or none, i dont want to sell part of the collection and still not have enough to cover the payment.

just a few ideas that i could come up with,

i totally understand... for what ever reason i have been considering selling my collection, but not in bulk, just most of it. what ever the reason you do what's best for you, not someone else. i lost two girlfriends and a band i was in, just to spend more time on my games!

Lets just say its time.
Other personal issues add to it, but im just not into it lie I used to be. It sucks cause im still in the middle of building the game room and getting that all situated as well.
I realize selling 34 games at once most aren't going to be able to afford. I MAY break them up in lots if I can get them all gone - and of course achieve the number id like. however this still kinda becomes an issue with having to sell all the extras individually as well as multiple listings sales, etc.
I just want it to be done with all at once. I dont want to sit around for months watching this slowly go away.

I went through some times a while back where I thought about getting rid of mine as well. My collection isn't nearly as vast as yours. But....I ended up just walking away for a while. I didn't get on KLOV for a long time and the games just sat out there mostly ignored. After 6 months or however long it was, I started tinkering with them again. At that point I was totally refreshed and excited to be working on them again. Just something to think about....

What Jehuie said -- why not just take a break for 6-8 months and see how you feel then?

I go through periods where I have 0 bandwidth and little interest in arcade related things -- real life does interfere with this hobby.

But it passes. A break may be just what you're needing.

Sell all the chaff and keep the grain, I got a 25+ game collection down to like 11-12 core titles and I'm much happier to have a more manageable set (probably need to sell a couple more soon even).

Man I know the feeling, Life Sucks right now. I have around 20 games on location, Most Restored, I do about 500. a Month, But Trying to Sell Something Sucks more.
