Do it. What kind of philistine does not like Arkanoid? The entire Arkanoid series is really, really good. I have an Arkanoid II sitting in a generic Dynamo and it gets a ton of play (when it works). My father of all people...a man who only played Solitaire on his PC...played the crap out of this machine when I asked to store it in his garage.

I'm going to be a custom CPO on my 60 in 1 Galaga for a Arkanoid Spinner (and trackball).

BTW I think arkanoid art needs a complete overhaul. The original art is horrible IMO. Actually the best arkanoid art I've ever seen is the very blurry bootleg arkanoid marquee that uses the spaceship or whatever on the marquee. I know the game play consists mainly of multi colored blocks and capsules but the game has a basic story line. The art work could have been more creative than it is. It's not like the bad ass monsters from the tempest side art are actually in the game.

Played it at CAX. It was Ok... Just really don't like the cabinet. Don't worry, Jow hatted Venture as well.... And I'm sure 98% of this forum!

I really like the art work... especially the item guide on the side of the bezel. The differences between the ROMSTARs really stands out to me, how one is on the art, and the other has that color border setting it off from the rest of the art.
Well, I am gonna go more colorful with the matching set of artwork I based off of the CPO that Spy found. Who sells it again? AS?
I vectorized the marquee, then vectorized a custom bezel based on the existing CPO seen in the center.

I think this cpo is pretty cool
That's cool, but it doesn't have placements for the controls. Yeah, you could use it on any CP, but then some of the artwork gets covered. I made this to fit my CP from a Centuri cab. I like it way more than the generic Romstar CPO, and it blends some old style with some new. It measures 23.75" x 11.25".

That is some really nice work there Phet. I have been wanting to put an Arkanoid together for years but don't have the skillz to do an artwork package. I would definitely do a Taito cab .. maybe in some sort of light blue/black color scheme? When you get done can you make the artwork available?
