-Should I do it?
-What cab should I use?
-I have been working on an artwork package for this game, should I finish it?
-Can anyone tell me how many variations of side art there were for this game?
-Is this game more than a blast to play?
-Can another acceptable name for Moobs be 'Fritz Titz'?

arkanoid is actually a great game. Yes build one. As for what cab, I've always thought iw worked well in the taito style cab that EA and JK came in. Since it was licensed to taito I think that also adds to the reasons it should go in that cab.

I have a bartop version that I really like. I had an upright for awhile and it had the rather generic "Romstar" artwork on the side, which is the rectangular blue background with "Romstar" across it and some grid type pattern.

I personally like the game, and my daughter loves it. It is a good hand/eye coordination game and never really gets old IMO. Go for it!

-Should I do it?

Yes. It's a really fun game

-What cab should I use?
Classic Taito cab for sure (with a custom paint job as if it was released in a dedicated cab)

Yes, and I know who should get one from you :)

Don't know how many, but I've seen the generic Romstar used on most of them. Here is the side art from my Doh!

Chicks dig it!

-Can another acceptable name for Moobs be 'Fritz Titz'?
I think that is an acceptable name!

Yep, I had that version too, but I never had a good place to put it. It took up too much room on the bar, and looked weird on a table, even weirder on the floor.

That's why it's an upright or bust this time. I have a Gremlin cabinet I am thinking of using.

Any of the ones Chris is about to scrap out...

of course

No

it's a triple blast of fun to play

That or Meaty Friz-Nips

Taito cab, custom color scheme that's more black than most. Invert the colors? Add a third layer to the stencil?

Interesting project..please post details as you go.

I know it was a Revenge of Doh, but I've always liked the custom sideart and kickplate zfcamaro had on his old cab...

Well, I am gonna go more colorful with the matching set of artwork I based off of the CPO that Spy found. Who sells it again? AS?

I vectorized the marquee, then vectorized a custom bezel based on the existing CPO seen in the center.

That bezel is the shit ... I'm just sayin'.

Get on with it!

Thanks. I like it too. I essentially had it done, was tearing off my clothes and celebrating, but then some dude wanted a bunch of (unvectorized) revenge of Doh stuff crammed in there too, which is why I lost interest in this custom project. For my purposes, it will print as you see it. Time to send the file off to Rich.

Wow, cool bezel.

I would lose the "jumbled blocks" on the bottom of the bezel. When you put it on top of the CP art, it will look... I dunno, repeated? Redundant? Can't quite come up with the words. Also, is the instruction on the bezel the same as on the CP? If it is I wouldn't repeat it. Definitely keep the top of the bezel the same.

I think an asymetric look with just the blue/white gradient down the left side and no blocks on the bottom, but with the blocks coming down the right and meeting the blocks on the CP would look pretty good. It's something to play with, anyway. Your basic design is the bees-knees, though.

And yes, I would build one, and I think a 19" Dynamo cut corner cab, painted white to go with your art, and a modified generic "Romstar" side sticker would rock. Make the blue background white, flip the white "Romstar" to blue and leave the grids the same colors. Scale it up a bit to about the same size as a DK sticker, and you got a hot machine.

Sigh...I wish I had one of those :(

I completely understand. I am actually dealing with those same challenges currently. I had it in a brewery for awhile, which was cool, and when it came home I put it on my bar. It took up too much space so I moved it to a table, but now it just looks weird on a table next to uprights. So not sure where it will end up. I will probably ask the moyackers coming over here this weekend what they think.

Mine is pretty much the same as yours, but was not covered in vinyl, nor does it have T-molding. It is a Merit machine, but is an oak cabinet with rounded edges, coin mechs, etc

Those Taito stenciled machines look pretty darn wicked.
