I have a Pacifis Novelties Thief game in very clean condition. I bought it non working as a project and have had little luck in getting it working. The Go7 is fine and the power supply has good working voltage. A mouse had taken residence on a shelf above the game and had left a pee trail on the 3 board set for the durration of its stay. The boards are not in good condition and were deemed not worth repairing. I bought a Thief set from a klov member but recieved only 2 boards. I bought a second board set from another member stated working but did not work when I got them. I have a 48 in 1 board to put into something and given the condition of the cab I could make a beautiful conversion out of Thief. I have put enough money and time trying to fix it. Do I sell a project Thief for a little and keep a classic alive or do I make some money and have some guilt for killing a classic. What would you do?

Depending on the amount of mouse piss, I would try to save it. There aren't many Thief (games) around anymore. Do you still have the tape cassette player that sits on the shelf behind the marquee?

I love that game but not many were into it. Know that you'd be doing a good thing keeping it dedicated rather than going the easy route to 48-n-1'ing it. Still, the value might be more as a conversion (sadly).

Tough choice but I'd keep it original.

I would think with 3 board sets (2 1/2) you would be able to piece together a working board. Wouldn't let mouse pee or poop scare you off. You can always run that board through the dish washer and make it look clean.

Dishwasher????

I wouldn't think to do that or even try. I am a novice and do not have alot of experience working on boards. I have about 30 to 40 games I am looking to sell because I am in way too deep. I started off hating mame and 48 in 1's untill a friend of mine built his own cab. I hate to even think of destroing a classic and it is complete. I do not want to put money before restoring but I have not had much luck finding working boards to install in this machine. Anybody want a beautifull Thief for a good price? Untill than I will consider my options and hope to do what is right.

I say restore it. Spray the boards with a garden hose and sun dry them. This hobby requires some patience... If you feel the urge to churn out 48-in-1s, there are plenty of junky Jamma era cabs to choose from. At the very least, that Thief sounds like good trade bait.
