They're Baaack!

well I put 5 games on a power strip on one of them and 4-6 on the other (can't remember) no issues.

awesome unit to have for sure.

THANK YOU

I love these things

My only worry with something like this or the X-10 is what state do they powerup after a power failure. I would hate to have all the games come on at once, especially if no one is home.

X10 retain their last state.

Hmmm...never ran into that, when I have had a power outage the modules did not return to their on state. That is to say that they were reset to the off state. ;)

But then, this may vary between the modules (or some of the newer ones) - mine are at least 15 years old.

I had an RF module similar to these that would randomly turn itself on whenever it felt like it. I'd come home and all the games plugged into it would be on. I suspect one of the neighbors had an RF device that ran on the same frequency, so I swapped all of mine out to X10. X10 seems to work great and will retain their "off" state even after a power outage. I had one faulty module that would toggle states after an outage, but since I've replaced that module everything is good. I think X10 is a better solution and gives you way more channels than these RF outlets. It's a little more expensive, but not much.

Remotes for arcades

Thanks for posting this information. Went down to Walgreens today and found A-F channels. I had to plug three machines into each remotes to cover what was needed and they all work quite fine. Been looking for a solution to the on/off switch thing for some time and now it seems as though my problem is solved. Thanks again!

Walgreens is currently is offering a $10 giftcard if you by $30 in itunes cards (limit two per person).

My wife and I each bought 2 of those for xmas gifts, then turned around and used the $40 in credit to get these remote outlets. They only had 7 in stock... I left one. Ended up getting A-F for $25 after tax.

I like the way you did that.

I've had these for a year and they add to the coolness factor of the games, I have had no issues, mine work though a wall even, I love them.

I just went to WalGreen's last week to see if they have two more, I need two more and they said they clearanced them...I am hoping they just got them back in:)

Of course now, I go to Home Depot today and guess what they had?

It looks like they are from the same company and you get 3 for $20. Each transmitter runs 3 different channels 1-3 on a single lettered channel.

The batch that I looked at had channels a-f so they probably have channel g as well. So for those whe needed more than 7, you can now get 21 controlled sockets (7 channels x 3 sub-channels = 21 sockets).

I picked up a channel f set and when I get a chance I will see if it is compatible with the First Alert channel f recievers.

jesus wish i saw that about home depot. I bought 2 last night, there freaking awesome. no more spacing my games apart and away from walls to hit switches and surge protectors.. I picked up f and g

Yeah, but don't buy them at Home Depot or walgreens.

Walmart has the same package as Home Depot does (3 receivers and 1 3 way transmitter) for $14.99. I set one up at home for the xmas lights and it's awesome.

Menards has them on sale for $ 9.99 right now. I think they all run on the same frequency, but you get 3 outlets and one controller that will operate all 3 of them.

Hmm. I need more than 7. When are H-Z coming out?

I was at a Walgreens 2 days ago, and they had a Channel H! So, I guess A-G isn't the complete range. Of course, I didn't buy any (I should have). They had 3 - E, G, and H...

Whaaaa...? The Search-Fu Master didn't know that there were 26 letters in the English alphabet??? :D

It was originally reported that they were only available in channels A-G. That's only 7 channels. I found an H. That makes 8 available channels. Are there more?

...letters in the alphabet? Hell yeah. There are 18 more!

Sheesh, you kids today.

After finally getting off my butt and trying it, the single channel ones appear to be channel 2 of the 3 channel ones. So they are compatible with the First Alert ones (single channel units).

Second, they are selling off fast. I got the last one at my local Home Depot on Friday. So in less than a week they sold off the 10 boxes of these that they had.

I would not expect them to have any for after Christmas clearance.

Update: I just got back from trying to find a short extension cord at Walmart and they have the same 3 pack as Home Depot for $14.98. It just has green packaging instead of red.

Yeah the walmart ones were the ones I mentioned earlier. I bought a couple of packs of them.
The thing is now I'm seeing other things in the house I can use them for, not just arcade machines. I'm thinking of going back and getting a couple more packs.
