Inspired by Gozer's animated walk through of the Knucklez arcade as well as a recent alteration to my game room's layout, I spent way too much time figuring out how to create this and then fine tuning it...

View on Youtube if you want to see it larger and in HD.

That looks awesome in HD... did you register Sketchup? Kickass game room... absolutely kickass...

If you missed the Asshat Arcade tour you can see it here... in lowly 240p....

Freaking Awesome Jeff! It looks to be a great layout, and I love the upstairs hangout. I see you still have the four player Cyberball.

Nice video. Sweet game building. Why is that Popeye side art set so far back on the cab? Is that the way the model was rendered or is it from the panning effect?

It's an early model of mine. My bad. Popeye is one of the Nintendo cabs on the list for revision. DK and DK JR. were already updated. DK3 and DK2 are also on the list for revision.

Love it Jeff. Saw you updated the Centipede too.

Is there also a field of blue around the side art that's slightly different than the rest of the cab? Not really concerned, just curious. It's amazing what you've been able to do with the software so far.

Yup. Early Nintendo models had this issue. I was installing the sidert on as images rather than painting them on. The result, you could see where I was trying to color match. The newer revisions so far are correcting this as well as creating transparent bezels.

Thanks guys! This really is the best way to show off game rooms on the internet! OTOH it really brings emphasis to any flaws in the models. For instance, I never noticed until I made this how flawed the Mouse Trap model is (biggest flaw being that the video image is rotated 90 degrees!). You opened up a can of worms Sean!

Amazing, Jeff. Nice layout too. I didn't realize the PP cockpit model had sideart (and blue molding!). Looks fantastic. The next house I buy will have to have a building like that, unless we move to an area that has basements. :)

What are the dimensions of the bottom floor? Trying to figure out how bug of a barn I need. I think I'd better start doug a sketchup for it!

Great job, very cool!

I don't have the patience to work with a piece of software long enough to get that good at it...

Kudos!

Tom

Gary, it's 27x24.

As for getting good at it, I really gotta say that it's not really "wasted" time just for "fun". If you ever like to rearrange your game room, it's invaluable for figuring out what layouts will work. The models are (for the most part) already created so it's not that hard to create your game room. And it saves a LOT of manual labor (trying things only to discover that you have to go back to the drawing board). Creating the video is actually quite simple.

Cool! I'm thinking 36x48, which actually seems way bigger than I expected after seeing yours. Going to fire up sketchup again today! :)

You should come down for the arcade party! (Not this sunday but next sunday. . the 18th).

Also, never saw the arcadecrusade site. . how do you like it? I may have to sign up for that! :) I like seeing pictures of all your games on there.
