Here is what I picked up today.
The 10volt AC to DC seems to be having an issue, that burned the connector to the PS, and blew the 5A fuse near the monitor.

Hardly any yellowing as it has been in a basement since 1985. This guy bought it from an op in 1985!

I love the shape it is in.

The pics dont even do it justice. That game is totally awesome looking. looks almost NOS:)

We should have done a group picture today:(

Thanks everyone... I am actually amazed at the shape this is in... even the carpet on the chair is clean...lol Yes, it is mostly white, and the yellowing that has happened is really really light.

Hey Matt, thanks! And yes it does have the canopy... you can almost see it in the first picture at the bottom left...lol I knew I forgot to take a picture of it!

It is in nice shape too, though he was missing the bolts for that.

That is one sweet machine! You'd better open it up and check for Tribbles. Those damn things hide everywhere.

LOL,
I will try to get better pictures of the inside a little later. I am going to take a look at her in a bit and see if I can figure out what the issue is, as well as clean her up a bit.

Tribbles...HA!

Okay, the game had no grounds ( I have pics in the help thread too but I will post here as well so I can share the journey!...lol).

My first Quandary (pic #1)
The board with plug #2 does not connect to anything except itself.

Should plug #1 go where plug #2 is (the small board) and then Plug #2 go where plug #1 is currently?

Second pictures are how they had the grounds.

Third pic shows Why pic #2 is irrelevant as the homemade make a plug has no ground on it...lol

4th pic, is where AC in arced and burned the plug/connector, popping a couple of fuses (done before I got it).

Okay, I installed a new plug.

First picture is what they did... no ground, nothing.

Other pictures are just me putting on a new cord.

I grounded the machine and the straps, and installed only the power brick and a new 5A SB fuse at what seems to be a power filter board.

I used post 2 & 4 off the brick, giving me 120V.

Which is sending 43.9V to the monitor (which is not plugged in). I read an article by Mongo that taught me that trick...lol

So, no tribbles, and the 5A fuse did not blow as it was doing for the previous owner, so that problem has been solved.... I guess.

Tomorrow I will install a 15A SB fuse on the Power board where the last one arced, but didnt blow... but something is def not right with it, so I will pick up a handful tomorrow, then install the power board and measure more voltages. If all checks out, I will connect the boards, then the monitor and see what happens!

He wouldn't budge on the price, not even a little. With Christmas coming, I couldn't offer him his full asking price, which I would have any other time of year just paid. Good to see another Klov'r got it if that was him...

It was the one from Alan.
He sent me pictures and it looked so good, I didnt care it wasnt running...lol

Besides unconnected wires and and wires pulled out of connectors.... the groundless plug and the Brick/PCB/Power board not being grounded at all... I really cant find anything wrong with this. I am doing a couple of things now, then will retest!

Yeah, I am bummed since I had the drop on it thanks to Ben, but it totally hit me at the worst possible time.

Bastard!

:)

Oh well, I am consoling myself with a Vectrex I just picked up - at least I am getting some vector love...
