How cool is that. On the Simpsons right now is an episode called "Them, Robot". I'm sure it's an reference to the arcade game "I, Robot"

Classic. Three card monte. Gotta love Barney.

Data from Star Trek Enterprise voices one of the robots working at Burn's Power plant.

Keeps getting better!

I saw that on my DVR tonight, but I haven't watched it yet.

This is a joke right? It's hard to tell sometimes online

I would imagine Atari got the name from the story is all I'm saying. Either way I think it was cool.

The book is a serious classic. I've worn out several copies. The video game was patterned after the theme of the stories (I haven't played enough of the video game to decide if there was any specific story it was patterned after). There have been a number of parodies of the book (and its sequels) including the Wil Smith movie a couple of years ago.

Anyone else notice that the voice of the robot was the famous TV android Brent Spiner from Star Trek? I instantly recognized it, but I'm a trek geek.

The name I, Robot has been used in just about every creative medium out there - books, movies, music, games... The list goes on. It was originally a book of short stories by Isaac Asimov about the inadvertent evolution of mankind from flesh to machine. My favorite incarnation of the story is the 1979 album by The Alan Parson's Project. It has some of the most incredible synthesized instrumentals ever created in my opinion, especially the final track:
