FS Game: Theatre of Magic in MD... can deliver to TN auction this weekend

Sure didn't. I booked about as soon as the pins sold. Where the hell, you get off to. I was there all of 10 min. and you where gone. The least "Da Don" could have done was say goodbye. I did pick up the newest Mr. Pinball price guide from out in the hall. Appently all the pins are now worth.......

Sorry you didn't get the 6K you were after at the auction. Alas, it is the way of the auction. A Friend of dlhenson and mine sold one that another friend of ours had fixed up in fairly similar condition to yours....sans the spinning saw mod and, gold trim, and box dress up mod. I think he let it go for 4200. Not as nice as yours mind you, but the LED show was fairly comparable. Just seems to be what they bring. If I really wanted to sell it and wanted the premium price, I'd try the Pinside. No offense to anyone who sells there, but that seems to be where all the crazy prices show up.....Anywho, best of luck moving it......and worse case scenario. It's still a pretty sweet pinball to enjoy. Shame I missed you....I was looking forward to meeting you. Just never saw anyone who matched your avatar. ;)

It was on pinside I think and Tom in that condition is not 6k. At 6k you are competing with acdc premium and other a titles. HUO mint ToM are going for 4-5k. Not 6k yet.

Find me a HUO Theatre for $4k and I'll flip it with a phone call for $6k easy.

Thanks for the compliments on the game, and the avatar ;)

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed that the game didn't fetch more bids. I wasn't expecting to get $6k for it, maybe into the low $5s. I probably would have let it go had it got there. I don't expect to get the 6900 price tag listed on the auction. It's really just there to entice a serious offer from someone who wants a nice machine, and to weed out tire kickers and dreamers that would ultimately waste my time.

I posted a link to the eBay auction on Pinside. Although I'm admittedly more of a pin guy than a vid guy (thus you would expect me to hang on Pinside than KLOV, which is not the case), I find that some of the people on Pinside are (nice way of saying something else) "wound up too tight." Thats saying a lot because i probably know a lot more guys on Pinside than i do on klov, since ive been a vendor at york and allentown for over ten years. Be that as it may, I lurk over there a lot less.

I don't expect to have the game much longer though.

The last auction had a Theatre of Magic that only went for $3800 so I think it was expected it would be bought back.

It definitely gets its money on eBay for sure.

Mike Chestnut just sold his for $7000, but that thing looked better than new with all the mods...

The last Kingsport auction had a CV that went for 5100, and it was a great looking machine. One just sold on eBay a couple weeks ago that was not as nice for $7k.

Pin prices are weird for sure.

The last Voltaire before that one at auction that showed up I purchased a few years back for $2900....long sold since then. Boy do I hate Cirqus Voltaire.

Most of the deal now is to flip the machines to whoever at retail nowadays...all the B title ones have been climbing as well. It's just the easiest place to find "local" pins but even with as many pins as I have it's getting harder and harder to purchase anything reasonable at that auction.

There were no real pin deals there. An off route Elvis went for 3400. The Gilligans was missing about 3/4 of the insert decals. The fish tales was blown out on the playfield, plus whoever moved it after the auction broke the already broken dome off. The Drac was faded and had a switch matrix issue, and still fetched average dough.

No real deals this time around.

Mike that Theater of Magic is just worthless, you're never going to sell it. As friends, if you pay for my gas I'll come and get it so you can be done with it. No charge to haul it away. What are friends for?
