Ok everyone, I have been hard at work with my film THE VIDEO CRAZE "Where were you in '82?"
I have teamed up with my Producer Steve Grunberger my Assistant Director Scott Zeiser and we have started a Kickstarter program to fund the movie to move forward in making sure the film gets what it needs to get done. I need to make sure I can get the assured amount of copies of Blu-Ray and DVDs made.
Please take a moment and look at the Kickstarter, you have a chance to have your name in the credits and even be a PRODUCER! I want to make sure this gets done! so I set a goal to meet :) tons of incentives and perks for your donation :)

Cheers,

Thats a lot of money to raise in just a month, good luck.I will buy a copy when it comes out.

So is the money going to be used to complete the movie or order DVDs or both? What happens if you don't get the funding?

Will the hanger be featured? What about toilet Tempest? Will there be any funny scenes about death?

Amen to that. That is the kind of stuff that would make a documentary about arcade collecting an entertaining program. Plus we need to see more characters that haven't been on other programs. There are tons of kooky characters in this hobby and they never get their due. That would sell. We need backstabbing, infighting, people going nuts with over the top collections and non stop craigslist trolling. Fights for games; etc. Homes stuffed with too many games and broken marriages; etc...

If I dont meet the required goal everyone gets their money back, and I will have to settle for cheap ways to produce the media, most of the funding is mainly for travel and submission of film festivals, and equipment and to people who are involved working on the film. I am now in the crunch time to finish it. Lots of stuff will be poured heart and soul to make sure my passion is shown into this project. this is a passion project, but it is also worth noting that it has become more :) I have had a very good supportive amount of people from all over to make sure its done the best it can with the tools we are able. More to come, I have a limited edition of 82 signed dvd/blu-ray covers with different cover art, and still working at a design for the Marquee :)

cheers,
Dave

Your eight minute trailer was boring. I'm trying to figure out what makes this compelling enough for a full-length movie.

More of the same internet people I don't give a rats ass about? Talking about when they were kids, going to an arcade? For 90 minutes? Have at it, guys. Should be sold bundled with those gozer books.

No random people off the street?
No former arcade owners / operators?
Yeah, Walter. We haven't heard enough out of him.

The camera work and post production are well done.
I just don't think you've got any hook here. Even the
sizzle reel lacks sizzle. The distribution will most likely
be the people interviewed, their friends and family and
that weird group of fans with severe body odor that idolize them.

...

Its gonna be cool, fuck you guys. Im interested in seeing peoples collections and hearing their stories. Years from now when im too old to collect and crapping my pants in an old folks home, I can watch this movie and get warm fuzzy's. I agree with Yaggy for most of his comments though... Interviewing people off the street, interviewing key collectors and old operators would be amazing.

btw. this is just a special note for everyone. Arcade related movies & books w/o exidy are like Star Wars Movies without Darth Vader.

Thanks

Jon

Can't argue with that.

It never ceases to amaze me to see how many people think they are indispensible to this hobby.

Any chance you could put up a cheaper pledge reward for just a standard Blu-Ray copy of the movie? I want to see the film and would back it if it were basically a pre-order of it on Blu-Ray. The extra stuff is nice but don't really need it :) Thanks!
