the unofficial "who has a journey arcade game?" thread

I have one, one of my grails, I still need a nicer marquee & working pcb anyone?

I now get to join this club! Yay...delivered last night. Will be doing a full restore, but Parabolic already did the hard part.

These machines look great. Nice grab, Jedi! What does it need?

On another note: does the dedicated cocktail also have the tape player?

I use to have one but sadly I sold it and Rootbeer Tapper to a fellow KLOVer (Don;t think he post very often). One day I want to get another one. Mine was a Arkanoid and I was converting it back. I had it working minus the music but needed some cosemetic work. When the guy came to buy it the sound went out and RB Tapper started having issues as well.

I cringe every time you say "full restore".... What are you planning on doing? I'm not sure I really want to know....

Actually not too much. Parabolic already did all of the electronic stuff, but I'll upgrade to the solid state player vs. the cassette player when that comes. The CPO is new, as is the Marquee, and the bezel is NOS. I already have side art that came with it and there are some dings on the bottom, so I'm going to strip it all down, repaint it, do the sides and replace the broken kick plate and T-molding. I don't like anything that's not minty looking in my collection!

Yes, I know old thread. Anyone of you Journey owners willing to:

a. lend me your cassette tape metal bracket to repro (and make a few extra)
b. have a spare complete wire harness they want to sell
c. have a spare pcb set with metal brackets they want to sell

I should be getting my Journey in a little while, and will need all the above to restore it and add it to this very small list of Journey owners.

I would pay any and all expenses in getting me the cassette player bracket, any and all responsibility would be mine if anything goes wrong. I would treat it with all respect and return it in the exact manor condition it was lent to me in.

Let me know.

As CW has listed his interface board for sale ( and seemingly abandoned this build ) any parts you have that he does not want I would gladly buy ! I just got a cab and need everything else . Any parts or leads greatly appreciated !
Happy New Year ! Shawn

If you repro the cassette tape metal bracket I will buy one. It is the ONLY part I could not find.

Talk to CDJUMP about the PCB.

Look for other MCR wiring harnesses that you can modify. I used a TRON.

And, yes.... I have a JOURNEY!

I almost had a Journey, but then got discouraged because so many of the original parts were impossible to find. I found a cab, then lost it, then just gave up.

Still have some hope however. Nobody responded to lending me their cassette bracket to reproduce, and so many other parts were and are so hard to find.

I have a perfect cassette interface board, but that's it at the moment. Have it listed in the for sale section, but I think I will hang on to it in hopes that I find a cab and many of the parts a journey needs.

Happy New Year Everyone.

Did you pass on getting it? I'd love a Journey too, but would suck if all it may be for quite some time is just the cab.

You gave up too easily! :)

When I got my cabinet it was completely empty! YOU CAN DO IT. You have the hardest part already. That cassette interface board is not easy to find.

PCB: Talk to CD JUMP
Harness: Find any MCR game harness. Modify it as needed. The wiring diagram in the manual is GREAT.
Cassette player: Any 6V cassette player will work. The bracket can just be an L-bracket from the hardware store. Looks and works fine.
Artwork: Rich @ this old game makes this
Control panel: Takeman repro'd this
Joystick: Any 4-way midway stick is correct (Burgertime, Domino Man, etc. Red shaft)
