1) That Star Wars UR I traded in 1996 because I couldn't figure out the monitor problem - this one keeps me up at night. Now any Amplifone vector problem would not only be cake, but fun hobby work. Dammit!
2) That High Speed Pinball with the one flipper that kept burning a solenoid. That I couldn't figure out how to fix in 1996. And probably could now. Dammit!
3) My Bosconian - first game I ever held high score on locally and first non working game I bought and restored. I miss her. Lost due to space constraints.
4) Track and field table with pedestal - me and my kids loved that game. Lost her in 2001 due to RAM errors and impatience. Could fix her now with RAM dealers online and all the help KLOV Forums offer.
5) Wizard of Wor - kept shocking my kids on the metal CP - that would have been an easy fix.
6) Gyruss - can't even remember why I sold that one. I play it almost daily on MAME.

What did you get rid of that you yearn to replace, and why?

My Haunted House pinball I couldn't fix in 1996. My father smashed it up because I left it in his basement. I think it was a power supply problem. I still get pissed about it. It was and still is my pinball grail and now I can't afford one.

Ow, ooh, I remember reading a post you made about this a long time ago.....or I think I do...

Same thing here, how can I buy another Star Wars (for probably $800 when I paid $200 initially back in the 1990's) or get a clean High Speed again????:confused::(

It's impossible. HH is a great pin, and I feel your pain!

I believe it! That sweet spot in time where only uber geeks had internet of any kind (even AOL!!!) and some knowledge and initiative....

Those times are gone. Now you gotta catch the one old lady out of 1000 who doesn't have a streetwise grandkid.

This used to be the problem Corvette buyers faced. Now we're down to buying Coleco tabletops, Vectrex machines, and those damnable wannabe multi's from Target and Costco.

(And Corvette buyers are thinking about fiberglass repro's too...)

Sold my Firepower pin a couple years ago because I was tired of dealing with its breakdowns. Should've just hung onto it and eventually got it fixed. Also sold an Omega Race cabaret that quit working; wish I would've kept that too.

Then again, if I had internet, I could have fixed it. Story of my life, day late and a dollar short. A fine thread by the way, can't wait to hear others storys. Should make me feel better. :D

I remember going to auctions and they couldn't give away Tempest machines. How many do you want for $50.00 a piece. Now I can't find one for under $400 - $500. At one time I had 4 in my garage.

Are you talking about the superauctions from the mid 90's? I'm still kicking myself for not bidding on that EDOT that sold for $325!!!

Two really come to mind. I had a cockpit Mach III in perfect shape and a Dedicated Frenzy with just a couple nicks. Had to sell most of my collection when I moved to Florida and miss all of them. Loved that Mach III but if pressed I think I miss the dedicated Frenzy most.

Having to sell my mint "KISS" pinball I picked up in '88 for $195 because the ex-wife seemed to think I had enough taxes coming out of my paycheck that she didn't have to have any come out of hers. Put it in the local classified rag for sale in '96 for $450 and sold it in a bidding war for $550. Had the guy call me a month later after he bought it telling me it broke and asked if I could come fix it for him. Got back on my feet 6 months later and found out to buy another it would cost me 3k!! Not happy

1)Deciding to get out of the Hobbie and then coming to my senses again. But by that time I had allready sold 6 games out of 27 that I wish I had not, burgertime,Star Castle,Gyruss,Time Pilot,Berzerk, and Pacman :(

2)Had just started collecting and was only a few months into it and picked up this wierd shaped cabinet with a drawer and a digital display.I thought what a tripple converted mess.Tossed it on the burn pile to findout a few days later it was a Dragons Lair cabinet :(

3) (My number one kicking myself thing)Deciding not to do a basement when I built my house. I actually had both sets of plans and chose to go with no basment because it was cheaper :(
