So, thanks to Mudhens, he hooks up me and Jpopson with a stash of games from a guy in columbus. Like all game hauls, it goes downhill very quickly LOL! First, the idiots at Uhaul. I reserve a truck 2 miles from where the games are. Get there, and they inform me my truck is another 15 miles south at a different location.

We arrive 45 minutes late, and we assume the games are at spot 1, and we have to pick up the last 5 in Johnstown, Ohio, NE of columbus. Well, 2 games are at dude's house, 4 are at the storage unit, 2 are at his buddies daughter's house, and the last 5 (supposedly complete games) are at the johnstown location.

Pretty much every game was missing 1/2 or more of it's parts, complete games (NOT ONE!) were missing tons of parts, and out of 13 machine, MAYBE 2 salvageable cabinets. the rest, burnpile. Interestingly enough, all 3 of the people we met put pc's and Xboxes in arcade games, and cut, hack, and pitch all the original parts. So, we did end up with a pile of boardsets, AR2's, 3 good monitors, and some midway linears.

I wish i would have taken a picture of the pole position cockpit cut in half, and getting STRETCHED into a 2 player side by side racer, i shit you not! Overall, pretty dissapointing. The highlight for me, was looking in the bottom of space duel to find Amplifone boards!

We haven't decided what we are parting, what we are going to make a new cab for and sell, etc, we will have that worked out sunday, and start parting out most of this stuff the way it looks. Anyways, here's the pics of the carnage!

Imagine that, another Mr Do conversion! Some of the cabs look like good pick ups, the Venture and Bagman at least.

Bagman was mine, it's been here lol better print the game list...

Here's what we brought back:

2 star castles - enough to make 1 machine, niether cabinet is salvageable.
1 Mr do. That's acutally a Taito crazy climber style cabinet. no boardset, no monitor chassis.
1 atari 1977 buggy somethin game. No boardset. Dude did give us a firetruck boardset for it
1 Frontline - no monitor chassis, stripped control panel, cabinet swelled an inch thick.
1 Track and field - cabinet solid, no monitor, no boardset, no back door.
2 Missile commands - 1 complete, no back door. Other, no board, no control panel, missing back of cabinet, no minitor.
1 space duel - cabinet thrashed, no monitor, no power brick, no back door.
1 spy agent - (elevator action) complete machine, non working, cabinet beyond hope
1 stunt cycle - no monitor, no boards, no back door, cabinet shot.
1 Kangaroo - digdug control panel, no monitor, dumbass cut all the wiring in the cabinet.
1 Venture - maybe savable cabinet. No boardset, no monitor, no back door.

3 monitors, 1 pole position boardset, 5 Ar2's, centipede complete harness, 2 midway boards, ampliphone boards, a little bit of other stuff.

that cabinet had me laughing, the mr do art is hand painted on the sides. When i noticed the notch in the coin panel, i realized it was the crazy climber style cab, and that did make my day.

It kinda makes your heart sink a bit seeing so many games in the graveyard. Hopefuly you get something working from the haul. Best of luck!

I think blinddog could really use the cardboard bezel on the stuntcycle.

Brett,
Always a crap shoot on these bulk buys...sometimes you score and sometimes you strike out...:( But if that Venture marquee is in nice shape save it for me when I come up...I might need it..

man i love junk hauls( although good game hauls are good too lol)

but with a find like this hell you neve rknow what your gonna find! I think in the end it was worth it aye?

yeah, i think we are going to make our money back on it. Just getting away from the house for the day is enough reward lol! The Track and Field is going to John, he has everything to put it together. I am copying several of the cabs, but not keeping anything for myself. Oh, and Arc - some of these barely made it on to the dolly lol!! Most, the bottoms are falling out. The TnF was solid, but both taito's have been drenched at some point. Back doors won't close they are so swelled!! The star castles have huge pieces broke off the front bottom corners, pretty sad. I am going to make a star castle cab, and transfer all the parts to it, then get rid of the two originals, so one of those will be "reborn"

What a bunch of crap. Sheesh. At least you will recreate some of them and all the parts can be used to bring other games back to life. The person who had these should be arrested!

Space duel and frontline are in the burnpile. I just stripped the best starcastle cabinet to copy. We have enough parts to make 1 complete one. Pretty sure its non working lol. Ill throw it out there, if anyone wants a fresh starcastle cab with all the parts from the pair 500.00 I will do the cab in black and white melamine, and I have the correct pica vinyl for the insides and coin panel. You'd have the nicest (and first) reproduction cabinet!

I have a fairly bombed out Star Castle with parts inside. I'm pretty sure I'll be bugging you in the future for a nice repro. How far do you go with them?

Cabs will be coming out of AZ soon.. warlords cocktail is going down this year too!

That's a nice deal for a Star Castle fan... for sure.
