It's not often that it works this way for me (See my Defender questions!) but it's so nice when it does. I was pouring over the Centipede upright last night trying to figure out why the monitor wasn't coming up. Voltages seemed ok, but certain parts of the chassis board were dead...lo and behold! The little 901 fuse was gone..not even there! Since the guy I bought these from had recapped it, I didn't figure something like this. Pulled a fuse off a spare chassis, and shazam! A working cabinet! Few little items to attend to and she'll be right as rain and ready for some high score setting.

Needed to share some good news, since Defender is still driving me nuts...

Same here....

I had a similar thing happen this week, too. I bought a non-working Tempest at the weekend swap meet for $150. It looked like it was all there, but I did not have the keys. I just parked it in the garage and would get to it later.

A couple months passed, and a few days ago, I was moving projects around the garage. I thought I would take a crack at the Tempest, and see what is going on. Turned out I did not need a key. The backdoor was just screwed on. I plugged it in. The monitor made noise, but the logic boards were dead. I checked the fuses, and the 5V fuse was blown. I replaced it, and VAVOOM!...it turned on! It works great. That is my favorite type of repair. I played and played and had a blast.
