I have an Atari System I cabinet with Marble Madness, Indiana Jones and Road Blaster. The cabinet is clean with new side art and fresh paint and T-Molding. Someone is interested in trading a "THE SHADOW" for it with all the kits.

Fair trade? Whats a THE SHADOW worth?

Yeah, i think if you can find someone who will trade you that would be a great deal for you.

Shadow is a great game, I'd jump all over that! Lots of people hate the backglass, but it's really not that terrible, I think STTNG backglass sucks too, but the game is great :)

I'd say go for it, you'll get WAY WAY more enjoyment out of it then you would with the arcade game IMO.

If it were me, I'd make that trade all day. The Shadow will be my next pin after the Spiderman I'm saving up for.

As long as this isn't a pin sitting on CL I'd say do the trade. If you don;t like it then you can put it on CL. If it's been sitting on there for awhile it just goes to show the amount of interest in it. Honestly I've spent a lot of time on that machine and I just can;t get into it at all. The artwork all around IMHO just sucks. I have a friend that just loves it .... *sing it* Different strokes to rule the world!

Yeah, i wouldn't think twice. Unless the shadow isn't working and has no playfield art left at all I would say the deal is great for you.

+1, it is often called underrated/undervalued, but IMO it is overrated/overvalued. There are much, much better pins for $1500. The theme sucks, the art sucks, the battlefield sucks, the daggers suck. The whole thing is just ugly and I like Baldwin (honestly the backglass doesn't bother me because I never look at it anyway). I've passed on these for $850 before. I do like a few of the shots and the magnet on it. If you like the game, good for you, they are easy to find and sometimes come along cheap.

But a trade for a System 1 with a few kits is still a good deal for the System 1 owner, if it's a straight trade.

You said the game sucks several times over, but it would be a lot more helpful if you said why.

If all you've seen are $850 shadows, of course it sucks. The shadow is a game that needs to be tuned well to be fun, but when it is it's a blast. The game has great flow, great sound, deep ruleset etc. When setup right, the battlefield is fast and fun.

Every issue with the game is fixable. Also, once I got my machine up to speed it has needed very little tweaking. With that being said, a lot of shadows out there play like shit but that doesn't mean it's a bad game.

The Shadow is a great pin....the movie might've sucked, but the pin is good. It's a shame that the movie drags down the pinball machine. The game is solid, and has lots of cool modes. The mini playfield is one of the best toys in a pinball machine. (much better than Twilight Zones mini-playfield) To top it off...it has the coolest ball lock.

I didn't play the $850 Shadows. The only one I've played is truly near mint and worked flawlessly.

"The theme sucks, the art sucks, the battlefield sucks, the daggers suck."

I'm just using "suck" as a general term to describe dislike. I don't care for the theme - I'm not into comic books (or whatever it was) or the movie. I don't care for the art - the colors and style are just not appealing to my taste. The battlefield is a crappy toy compared to the IJ POA or the TZ powerfield thing. It feels like a horrible, clunky, mechanical version of the videogame "Breakout". The daggers are goofy looking and being able to control them doesn't make up for it.

It's just taste, someone else might love all those things. Some of the shots were fun, and the magnet lock was cool. The rest of it I could live without. I'd rank it in the bottom 25% of Williams/Bally late model "Value" machines.

That is the way Cody feels, from RGP. Some love it, some hate it. I love it. I respect all opinions on games. Wade, please PM me if you find a cheap Shadow. I will make the drive to WV for that kind of deal. Seriously.

The world is over sensitized to any expression it seems. Tis the reason I said, "IMHO the artwork sucks." My opinion only. I don;t much care for when people come across as their opinion is fact.

FTR - I have also played a pristine Shadow. The game just has nothing of interest to me. Which is good news for locals - because if they want one there's just one less person to contend with ;)
