The semi-official Multi-Williams build thread

Looks good. What'd you use for the start button lights? Hard to tell the excution from the pics. :)

I connected everything else, but these lamps do have me stumped. There's no logic from the JROK to drive them (I think), so I was just going to hook them up to the same wire as the coin door lamps.

It took me a lot longer to tweak the WICOs than I thought it would, but I'm happy with them now. Using the Reverse ("Flap") button for Defender definitely requires a new hand position; it's a good inch farther away than on the original. Other than that I'm loving this.

I ran a -5v and ground directly from the switcher to both the coin door and start button lights since the Jrok doesn't use it.
I also opted to use these instead of incandescent bulbs.

I finally wired up mine today and used all of the P1 and P2 S1-S3 buttons. I wired it the MW style and it worked great. The Robotron was converted to JAMMA so there was a harness with molexes in there. I just needed to wire up all of the buttons to new molexes and connect the right pins to the molex. S3 on both sides were not in the molex but I found them tied up on the harness so I cut them loose and put the right pins so that they coud be put on the 2 Molex connectors going to the control panel.

I had to map them all out but now it works great.

Since I used to different leaf sticks from different batches the grommets don't really match in feel. I need to break them apart and get the right feeling centering grommet on there. Playing defender on a 8 way is a little weird feeling but you get used to it.

The WG K4900 needs a cap kit and some monitor tuning but at least it plays decent. Some day this machine will see the full sanding and restoration w/ a stencil kit.

JROK + Phoenix Arcade FTW.

bumping the thread for a few pics...I need to stabilize the CP better, and will do the MW stencils on the cab sometime after the snow melts. Other than that I think I'm done!

Nice job! Did you already buy the MW stencils? If not, I'd skip it- that Joust side art looks to be in great shape and probably just needs a little touch up!

Agreed, the Joust artwork is nice. Maybe I can find someone local with a trashed cab that I could trade with.
