I am doing a complete restoration on the Sega R360. I thought i would share the photos. I hope to have this done in a couple of weeks so it can be listed on Ebay. I just started to paint the side rails on the cabinet. It was tricky to find the original metallic purple that they used back in the day.

Unfortunately not. Its way to tall to clear the door. I have to use a big outdoor tent to keep it out of the weather.

You didn't get that thing from the Michael Jackson's estate auction?

Great !!! Only played this once in my life, in London, when it was the latest thing.

Love that pic with the machine on the trailer, I bet you got some weird looks.....

Will follow this with great interest !

OMG, this is almost worth a STICKY... lol

It's like the king of all restoration projects. Did you get everything with it including the attendant station and protective railings?

How much did you get it all for? I can't even imagine anyone having one for their home... then again ... now here it is....

So ummm.... does it work?

I think most here would be interested in a back story.
Kevin Keinert is the man when it comes to R360's, but I have to assume you know who he is.

Wow, you should just wheel it around in the trailer and charge $5 per game. You'll probably get more money out of it that way than selling it. Thanks for posting this.

I don't think so - if he gets it cherry and working, that will go for big bucks...

Shit yes, I'd buy it restored.....

Michael's Jackson's "auction" never actually took place, but it might now...

No, I wish I could get that one though. That actually didn't go through, although DreamTR is right, it just might now.

Yeah, we had people stopping us to ask. We still get that. We have people come up to our door and knock just to ask what it is. I have a blog I have been working on. I will have to finish getting it going and post it for anyone interested in following the progress.

now this guys is even more insane.

Adapted two copies of Wing War, one into an R360 to dogfight against each other.

we can only dream.

Like I said, Kevin Keinert is the man when it comes to R360. He's also a go-to restoration expert for high end valuable antique machines. I always look forward to his gameroom magazine articles. His work is simply amazing.

Ooooh Shit this is so F.ing AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't know what this is and it pops up next door to you........... I bet it just keeps bugging you , that BIG question: what is that thing?

When it's working it's a blast, it's a trip well it's the Sega R360.

Dude you at no1 on the my Cool Board by doing this.

Like has been asked here a few times, do you plan on posting a story behind this machine? How about a report on its working condition?

Painting the frame is a minor detail compared to those 2 doozie questions.
