I saved a red baron with the help of the Mickster. Pulled it out of a nasty barn and still coughed up 250 for it knowning that nothing was working.

Coughed up about 35 bucks for ps parts and fixed that.

Then had to hack up about more money for the board repairs, but I was glad to get it working. The problem ended up being pretty difficult to track down, but he got the boards working.

So about 350 miles of driving...
about 525 dollars in the machine including the machine, gas, labor, and parts.

Now I can play a game that x-box 360 charges you about 2.50 to purchase :) But this was a must have machine for me. The best part is that this machine wasn't a broken resident of my gargage for too long.

What is a good score on this game?

It must be my night I also got my HS2 working properly. Perhaps I need to play the lottery tomorrow?

When I get it cleaned up properly I'll get the pics up.

Congrats! Glad that something worthwhile was pulled out of that particular nasty barn!

Alan

The 360 may have it, but to me it looked like ass in Game Room. The real deal is a much better experience for sure, and you've racked up some arkarma salvaging a machine from a barn and getting it up and running again. :)

Pictures or this didnt happen;)

Here's a pic of when I saw that particular game in the aforementioned nasty barn more than 7 years ago... (look above the stack of banana boxes, you can just see it.)

That's a cool game. I'd say it's worth more than what you have invested, especially if you like it. If you decide to sell it, just slap a high price on it and wait for the right customer, no rush and you'll do well on it.

That was the one! Nice picutre. That picture made the barn look organized. That is not the case. It is decaying pretty fast. It has officially been cherry picked now. I am picking up 2 more machines. But I am not saying what they are.

I am tumbling the nuts and bolts and doing some general cleaning before it goes in the house. I will take pics but I want it looking really good before it hits the basement. I also pulled the space duel that was in there out. Mick swapped me a board set and that one was up and running. I had way too much into repairs for the other machines I previously pulled out of there. He basically is selling machine that should go for between 40 and 150 for 250 to 400 bucks. It doesn't matter what it is...

I was going to sell the duel, but It is kind of a cool game. Not to mention apparenty wg 6100 monitors are apparently a good stock to buy judging by the one that went for over 600 bucks. But for some reason I just can't part it out. Vector games are just too cool.

the pics

Well its almost done.. The belt on my tumbler broke... so I'll just post it like this . Sorry the pics are terrible.

No problem. I have the settings on my fancy dang camara screwed up. I was trying to turn off the flash.

My arm isn't long enough to see the little tiny words on the tiny little LCD screen. Aging sucks.

Looks like it is in real nice shape. I want to find me one of these one day as I'm probably the biggest ww1 airplane nut on the board.
