I love coming across these things and always leave them on when we refurbish our games. I'm wondering if others do the same or strip them off? I like them because even though there are multiple copies of titles out there, it's a personal piece of history for that particular game. It tells you where it once was and reminds you that the games have been treasured by many and then passed on before finding you. Here's a pic of one that we purchased yesterday. Not sure how it made it from Oklahoma to California, but I bet it was a good story.

I'm interested to see if this thread can get photos from every state, who has the lowest tax stamp, the highest tax and the oldest one.

I think the old tax stamps are cool. I saved a few recently that were mounted behind plexi rather than being affixed to the cabinet. I can't wait to see what gets posted in this thread.

A pic taken of the side of my Red Baron upright back when I bought it out of a guy's garage in Minneapolis in 2004. Always wondered how it made the journey up I-35 from Texas to Minnesota.

Looks like two prior years' stickers were behind the 1984. There was a piece of plexi, held in place with a screw, covering the sticker.

My Dig Dug cabaret has a few from South Carolina..

I looked up the operator and they were a big one..

the owner said he built his company on video games but got rich owning almost every video poker machine in the state until they were made illegal.

I always enjoy this kind of stuff with games also.. I would rather have a beat up original machine with some history then a restore.

My centipede is the only one with any on it. The old man I got it from bought it from an operator in 89 and it spent 30ish years in his barn.

The second and third pictures are on a Road Blasters (originally an Indiana Jones) and it also had a metal Aladdin's Castle property tag.

The first picture is from the Road Blasters or Toobin as these are the first games I had that came with tax stamps. I can't find any holes in the Toobin where it was mounted so I think it came with the Road Blasters. The over lapping years have me confused though, if it was on the Road Blasters. I will have to look better for any holes on the Road Blasters to confirm.

Anyway, what ever game had the year 2000 tax stamp had a pretty good run and was still making money.

Nice, the village of Mundelein makes the board. That's 12 states by my count. I think we have two more somewhere. Only 30 something stamps left to complete the collection

I vectored the City of Phoenix tax stickers. I took a picture of one that was on Arcadenut's Dig Dug and I redrew it by hand in Illustrator.

Here's a few that I could get to on my Ms Pac-Man. 1983, 1984, 1988, 1990 and 1992 tax stickers from Mississippi and from the city of Jackson, MS. There is just as many on the other side.
