The post-CAX "Now I want a ____" thread

Hopefully thats in a good way ;)

Hey, I met her last year and she was doing the "Mom" role... so not so much fun as being responsible... She was AWESOME!!! I can't stop thinking about her doing those Mel Gibson imitations... cracks me up! I only wish I had gotten to spend more time with you both!

Ok...back to the topic....I'd love a Zeke's Peak.

At first, I would have put Cosmic Chasm on my list but by the second game I felt like I could play forever on one credit so I'm nixing that one from my wish list. Which is good since it's like a gazillion dollars rather than the just half-gazillion for the ZP.

Cool thread concept!

I had already said I wanted a Space War (or Space Wars, I believe they are the same...?) but now I for sure want one. Definitely the funnest person vs. person game I played this weekend, and it reminded me of the old days at Golf-n-Stuff in Phoenix... Sigh.

Vectorbeam Space War is in a smaller cab vs. Cinematronics Space Wars. Plus it has better side art.

I'll chime in here....

Pin: I'll be looking for a Black Hole pinball, I knew I liked it, but after playing it for hours Saturday night - I'm hooked. My son wants a Revenge from Mars pinball. I couldn't get him away from that game for very long. That's all he's talking about now...

Vid: I was looking for this game back in the late 90's early 2000's and did not find more than a manual and a marquee for it....it was...wait for it... STAR FIRE !! I don't know the owner of the Star Fire cockpit at the extreme, but I sure would like to in case he ever wanted to sell it. I finally gave up looking for one but playing this one re-lit that file.

What a great show it was!

I totally meant to come back to try Star Fire and I never did. Same with Speed Freak. Each time I came by. someone else was on there....so next year I guess!

Last year I left CAX wanting a Mad Planets, a Berzerk, a Black Widow, a Sea Wolf and a Demon. One year later, I have a Berzerk, but the rest have alluded me. My next focus from that list is to be Mad Planets.

Yeah, he introduced me to Reactor also and Mylstar happened to be there playing it and showed me how it works. It's one of those games that I totally didn't understand the concept on. Even standing there watching people play it made no sense. So I totally would have missed out on this one if it weren't for those two guys showing me. And Mylstar actually pretended that I was good at it and made me feel good about myself. :)

You did an excellent job for your first time playing. You got to the vortex and managed to get 26k or 28k to boot! That is a very, very good as Reactor is a hard game to play (or maybe understand?).

I've seen people play for the first time and get less than 1000 points!

When I played my first game on Saturday I could see a guy with frosted, for lack of a better word, hair watching me play via the monitor glass reflection. I assumed it was a KLOVer but he went away after I finished so I could not talk to him. Was it someone here?

Cool. Just out of curiosity, are they rarer, or more plentiful?

Stephen -

Let me know when you are ready to sell your Reactor. I'll gladly double the money you paid for it ;)

Road Runner (laserdisc prototype), Nightmare, Varkon, Inferno (in this order, lol)

I forgot about Varkon and Inferno. Both of those were pretty sweet.

I definitely have the bug again, which kind of sucks since I'm out of room (and money). I'll have to sell some games to make room for a few new ones. Right now, I'm really wanting Mad Planets, Sea Wolf, and Gravitar. Those will probably be the three that I "hunt."

I played Time Traveler a few times and really enjoyed it. I definitely need to convert my Holosseum. Thanks to acejedi, DirkDDS, and a couple other guys, it looks like I'll be able to track down most of the parts sooner than later.

So...uh....yeah.... I've spent most of my evening thinking of ways to pick up a few of my new crushes without dropping a dime or having to move games into my garage.

If I sell a pin (probably Dracula) and one of my vids (Donkey Kong maybe?), I could fit a Mad Planets and Gravitar in the arcade. And Sea Wolf would look sexy hanging outside of the arcade next to my pirate bar. I'm reluctant to sell one of my pins, but I think it's really the only way I could pull off a 2-to-3-game swing while having enough space to actually make it work.

I plan to drive myself batshit crazy thinking about this for the next week or two.

I didn't realize there was so much love for Mad Planets. I played it a TON back in the day, got a real nice one from Tim about 2 years ago. I'd think there aren't too many of them around anymore, at least that aren't already in the hands of collectors.

I felt "in the zone" when playing some mad planets Saturday AM at CAX... Then I walk up and watch someone breaking close to 300K!!! Can't remember the high score for the weekend but it was very crazy to see the skills some of these people have!

Star Fire Owner?
That would be me.
I actually know of one for sale in Northern CA. It's not working yet, but it is complete. The owner will sell it either way. I of course can help you out with the finishing touches ;)
