I played a shit-ton of games this weekend, and now that CAX is over, I've got some new games on my radar.

Gravitar- I thought I wanted one before CAX, and now I'm sure of it.

Mad Planets- I had never played it before, and now that I have, I see what the fuss is about. Daddy like. A lot.

Sea Wolf- Another one I had heard of but had never seen or played. I love the sounds and the cabinet looks sweet. I could see the gameplay getting old, but it would be fun at parties.

Warlords cocktail- another one that would be a party-pleaser. The four-player action is addicting.

Sinistar- much like Gravitar, this one was already on my radar, but now moreso.

What about the rest of you? What games will you be chasing?

Robotron. One of those games that I just never tried for some reason. I played it quite a bit, but it was really hard to shoot diagonally with that joystick. I need to find a couple of 4" sticks to use on the MAME cab until I find a dedicated cab.

Aztarac - I won't be chasing it because I'm realistic, but I played it a ton. What an addicting, beautiful vector game.

Aside from my already established want list, Asteroids Deluxe, Star Wars (vector), and Journey for the vids. As for the pins, No Good Gofers, Elektra, and Sing Along were definitely a few of my faves.

IF I had gone to CAX,I'd probably have wanted to try to find 90% of the games that were there. I was hoping to see a pic of the Mega Man game that was supposed to be there to see what kind of cab it was in,look of the CP,etc.

Zookeeper - Never played this growing up, but what a fun, addicting game. I also like that the wife enjoyed it. I don't know if there are any around me, but I will for sure keep an eye out. And to be honest, Taito cabs rock.

Reactor - Probably wont be able to find one, but I played a bunch, and the game made much more sense to me once I got a chance to watch Mylstar play it. He was nice enough to sit and play and explain what to do where and all of his strategies. I wish it were quieter in the place so I could have heard the music. Its awesome (from what I have heard in MAME). Would love to own this game.

Diner - Need this pin. Fun, awesome art, and the customers are freaking cool (as well as all of their one liners). A very cool pin, and would look perfect next to my Taxi ;)

If I had space, I'd want a Taxi pin and an Attack from Mars pin. I also enjoyed the Dr. Dude pin.

As for vids, I liked really liked Zookeeper and Tapper. Oh, had a great time playing Warlords, but if you don't have 4 players often enough to enjoy it, I can see that game being a total drag on the collection.

As for less sought after games, I played a TON of Bosconian and Bump n' Jump, but don't know if I'd *have* to have them.

i'd like a zookeeper as well. it was a lot of fun to play, and a simple theme. aside from that, a black widow, as i loved playing that. i'd like a sea wolf as well, as i had one and sold it, and playing the one there really made me miss it. a warlords would be cool but i don't have people over to play a whole lot so i couldn't justify the space for one.

pin wise - creature from the black lagoon, all the way. was a ton of fun to play.

Cool thread concept!

I had already said I wanted a Space War (or Space Wars, I believe they are the same...?) but now I for sure want one. Definitely the funnest person vs. person game I played this weekend, and it reminded me of the old days at Golf-n-Stuff in Phoenix... Sigh.

Cab is ridiculously big, though... I wonder how hard it would be to put a Space War PCB into an empty Asteroids cab and just remake the control panel or something...? I just know there was a ton of empty space in that thing.

How much do Space Wars go for now, anyway? Anybody got one they want to sell? I should check the FS section, I suppose...

Also, the Spy Hunter cockpit was pretty sweet, just for the sound and comfort aspect.

Warlords cocktail was cool, but too expensive / sought after, I think. EVB and I played a game or two on it, and at some point I played it with 3 people, and it's pretty sweet.

I was asking someone, was that a proto game, or something that was released? I had never heard of it until this weekend. It was fun to play, for sure.

According to Josie / Wendy, there were only 90 made... :(

Jow is on to something on his Reactor comments. On Sunday I mostly ended up walking around, talking to KLOVers and asking them to play doubles on games they were good at. Not only was it the most fun day I've had at KLOV, I also learned alot of strategy I would not have otherwise.

Wants: Zookeeper and my Frontline fixed (plays blind).

I want a Varkon the most !
a Dracula pinball, and a Scared Stiff pinball

There's been a Dracula pin for sale forever up here. It pops up on CL once in a while. I don't remember how much the guy is asking for it but I think it was pretty reasonable. It's a local operator. If you are interested I can track it down since the guys shop is close by. I know I'm pretty far to travel for it though.

Yeah, he introduced me to Reactor also and Mylstar happened to be there playing it and showed me how it works. It's one of those games that I totally didn't understand the concept on. Even standing there watching people play it made no sense. So I totally would have missed out on this one if it weren't for those two guys showing me. And Mylstar actually pretended that I was good at it and made me feel good about myself. :)

VARKON!!!

I'm surprised any of you had a chance to even try it, as I was hogging it pretty often!:)

As for pins I would like a Black Night, or was it Dark night, or was it Knight?? Yeah - I paid a lot of attention to the names....

For games I hadn't played before... hmmm... I will put my tail between my legs and admit that Quantum was a ton of fun. After a year of announcing it as the suckiest game out there (it was the player that sucked - not the game) I had a blast with it!

The most fun was had w/the other KLOV-ers!!

I had a great time with Jimkirk at Great America, we had NO lines for any rides all day!! We made the loop of everything in less than 2 hours... instead of doing only 2 rides in 2 hours. Good fun!

Lots of laughs w/Andy, Chris(numbers), Avidgeek, Jawhn, ArcadeJunkie, Jow and his wife Angela who surprised me... I will never be able to see a Mel Gibson tape again without thinking of her:eek:, Cleverly and his wife Chrissy were fun... a little shy at first but awesome fun once you loosened up and got to know us whack-jobs... 30 Fathom, Audiomidiman and just so many others... oh yeah - and sleepy-head XXI21... his quirky sense of humor had me rolling with laughter throughout the weekend... I also have to mention M1A... I was glad I took the time to get to know you... I so enjoyed trying to torture you, but in the process developed a new respect for you;) You are all a great, great group of guys!!:)
