"The Perfect Fraudman"

These "arcade hobby" films are both intriguing and depressing at the same time. I'll be watching for sure. Good luck with your collection drive.

Hat: Hey dude, what are you gonna do now that your death metal band broke up?
Dreads: Same thing you should do. Get a job, bathe, try to fit into society....
Both: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Hat: You're a funny guy. No seriously, what you gonna do?

Hat: I've already accomplished the bath/haircut/society thing. Unlike you, all I need is a job.

Is that just the working title of the movie, because 99% of the population isn't going to get the reference and its not clever enough to be intriguing. Come up with something that makes it recognizable to people that aren't hardcore arcade gamers and gives them a clue as to what its about.

I'm sure they're aware of the fact that this movie won't appeal to a lot of people outside of our demographic. This movie's pitch seems like a straight rebuttal to a lot of things said or implied in The King of Kong. That alone takes a little wind out of it, because most people could give a shit less if Bill really is the true Pac Champ or a Pac Chump.

If they are trying to make this film appeal to a larger audience they should keep in mind that tkok didn't gain momentum just because it was a documentary on high scores and arcade games. It painted a picture of a bunch of assholes coming down on the little guy. Steve is the lead of a very good "everyman" story. We've all fucked up in life at some point, been accused of something we didn't do, and we've all overcome challenges. Everyone can relate to that. People can see how good of friends Billy and Walter are, and a published false score wouldn't surprise me one bit.

That said, I try not to judge too much because I don't know any of these guys personally. I hope Pac Scam (working title?) gets finished, I'd love to watch it.

Man you should be in Marketing for sure. Nice work. I believe I have met the guy with the dreads along time ago at the des moines auction. He honestly seemed like a nice guy. I don't think he had the dreads then. My interest selfishly are all about enjoying the hobby and gaming, so I am keeping my quarters.

All that is fine if it were self funded. The very reason for the original post was to solicit investors. At that point its a business, and if you're doing that it has to make money.
If there is one game more recognizable than Donkey Kong, its Pac Man. People that don't know Billy Mitchell by name still see his picture and know "the video game dude with the mullet". You make that your advantage.

When I see a title that doesn't grab me and trailers meant to entice investors that has lawnmowers running in the background, it tells me that my investment is going to get squandered. I might as well buy $50k in scratch off lottery tickets.

I'm only critical because I want to see another arcade movie do well. I don't even care if King of Kong was an actual documentary, it was great for our hobby.

I have to agree 100% in that the title does leave quite a lot to be desired.
