If you have the manual for NBA Jam or any of the MK games look up the part # for the Joystick to get from Happ. It is different than the standard sticks they sell on their site/catalog but you can still get them if you have the part #. The switches and springs were different than the stock sticks Happ sells. Midway used the same sticks in all their coin-op games that used an 8 way joystick during that decade.

I just ordered all my Happ shit to hook up the CP. I'll use the springs out of the old sticks if the new ones don't feel right. Sweet!
you don't know what your missing with heavy springs if you've never used them. i kinda doubt the sticks came with anything other than the standard springs tho.
which sticks did you end up getting the comps or the ultimates?
The IL sticks from what i hear have a better actuator and grommet and happ comps are just a "cheaper knockoff" of the IL's (i've never had IL's just Comps and Ultimates myself.)
I can understand the IL's not being completely stock but you can just swap out the dust shield with a black happ one

Interesting cause in attract mode the Sonics are the team just under Chicago who is last w/ a trophy by their logo. Wonder if Midway was just lazy?

What is funny is that new Mortal Kombat game that came out on the consoles had a limited version that came with an arcade stick controller (that is really very nice!). They touted it in their announcement as having the same happ controls controls like the old arcade game, except they just used the standard off the shelf sticks and not the "midway sticks"! They must have forgotten there was a difference!
Congrats! Jam is one of my all time favorites too! I almost always use the Bulls when I play.

I loved the NBA Jam games, i liked the TE more than the first one, especially the first rom revision with the MK characters in them as hidden players.

For open Ice put in MXV and Oct 14
For Hangtime I think they got rid of the bday and changed it to a number instead and we just used our birthdays again anyway so it would be MXV 1014
