The official "What games were missing at CAX 2010?" thread.

EDOT and Missile Command cockpit.

has there ever been an EDOT at CAX? ever? For me the biggest surprise was no paperboy. There wasn't one last year either and people were bummed about it. I'm 99% sure it was supposed to be coming this year but obviously didn't happen. Watch next year there will be like 5 paperboys.

How much did that Ice Cold Beer sell for?

Oh, and so as not to be hijacking....I don't remember seeing a Frogger there.

Kinda like the 5 Star Wars...or were there more? I know the game is popular but there could be other games brought to fill those spaces.... Last year or year before that was the same story. How many Star Wars machines does the show need?

Well at least 3 of the 5 had display problems.

I don't believe there was a jungle king or jungle hunt there. would like to see lock n chase. pooyan was also missing this year. I expected no pooyan going in though.

not that I know anything about it, but it looked like a china clone to me.

Games I thought were missing.

Xmen 4 or 6 player.
TMNT
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo although no one really played 3rd Strike... Instead of STHD they were running SF4 in that X360/big blue cab.
If anything someone should have put Pacman CE in that PS3.
Operation Thunderbolt
Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder
D&D: Shadows over Mystara
Soul Calibur
Daytona Twin
Any of the good Sega Virtua gun games.
I couldn't get Space Harrier going (FAIL)
Mario Bro WB had a sticky jump on Mario's side also.

I missed the Candy Neo 19 so I didn't see what games were in it but the Neo Gold had crappy games in it. They needed a big red 4 slot or 6 slot w/ Metal Slug and SS2.

Was disappointed not to see the kickman or mr. do! again this year. The kickman at last year's show inspired me to buy one. I was also really disappointed that there weren't all the linked games that were at last year's show.

I was really happy to see cyberball there. Seemed to be getting some love every time I walked by it.

There was a Tapper at CAX for sale - did it sell?

My tapper cocktail (which was at CAX) is always trade bait or for sale as well. :)

Oh and the mario bros sucked. bad, sticky, non-responsive button for mario and luigi wouldn't move left. :(

With that being said, It's only 350 something days till CAX 2011. :)

Starship 1 (I did beg MS to bring it. Maybe next year, cause he wants me to own it)
Stunt Cycle (man that would be so cool)
Sky Raider (There is one in Roseville)
Berzerk, and a working Frenzy
Bomb Jack (who's got one?)
Burgertime for real
Carn evil
Crossbow (oh why were you down)
Commando (came to mind during the hour I spent on Front Line)
Cosmic Avenger
Zaxxon
SubRoc 3d
Carnival (but shoot the bear was similar)
Alpine Racer

And I'm wondering why that Zookeeper wasn't with the Elevator Action and Frontline...

I preferred the location of the Zookeeper over the location of the EA and Frontline...but the Taito cabs should have been together.

I guess my other gripe was that the Zookeeper sound didn't work on day two or they turned it down. Zookeeper sounds rock. Turn that bitch up!

Hmmm...it may be that my ZK sound was off on Sunday...sometimes the sound doesn't come up when it's turned on. But if I power off and on again, it comes on again, no problem. Wish I had known as I couldn't easily fixed that...I just turned it on in my garage/arcade, and the sound (and everything else) worked just fine.

I played ZK on sunday. It had sound..

dale has a MC cockpit. He has brought it in the past to a few CAX shows.

EDOT has been at cax before. There has also been a cut cabinet EDOT at cax. Another collector has brought his UR DOT in the past, but it could not come this year. I was upset my DOT failed at the show. It was on for about 10 hours at my house.

As for paperboy, Not sure what happened. I asked jonathan about it friday evening and he said one was coming. I would have brought mine had I known it was going to no show..

Next year I will fix and bring the space panic cocktail. Probably going to bring the crazy climber cocktail too.

Joust pin show up every few years. Since my long term plans are to sell my joust and defender pins, maybe I will bring them to next years CAX.

You guys probably don't know this, but we tried to link the 2 tmek protos and blew up both boards.. It was a mad scramble to get both of them up before the show. Not sure if people are interested, but me and TJ want to link 4, maybe 6( Ken and TJ also have a sitdown) for a future show. I plan to build another upright in my test your mek cab and tj wants to build one in his primal rage cab. Maybe for 2012 CAX. That will be atari's 40th..

as for the fighting games, personally I have just a few fighting game pcbs. No dedicated fighting game cabs. I don't really like fighting games.. If your local and you have an interest in figting games, you should make an effort to bring your cabinets. Yes, ken and TJ probably have fighting game cabs they could bring. but every common game they bring usually means something rare and obscure ends up staying.

It is my understanding that there is space for CAX to grow. But its going to take a bigger effort from you people to bring more games. Ken & TJ took 8 truckloads. I don't think you can really ask them to do more..
