The Official KLOV "Regret" Thread

When the company transferred me cross-country, rather than letting them move my games (and pay for it), I sold most of them.

The ones I regret letting go: Star Wars upright in near-mint condition and the Tron cabaret which was in good condition except the control panel overlay (and repros of that are now being made).

Oh well...fairly minor in the grand scheme of things...

my biggest regret so far is NOT bidding on a NOS great swordsman kit when I just started in the hobby.

It was at like $43 selling price. f_ck me, that was stupid. Took me 2 more years to find just the board, then I had to have an adapter made.

I once purchased a very clean fully working Tempest. The reason was, my girlfriends dad had one when she was young and they played it all the time. Well, I found one for sale bought it, trucked it from minneapolis to Chicago. Dragged it up 3 flights of twisty stairs to her apartment and surprised her for Christmas!

She dumped me a few months later, and it was a painful reminder having the game in her bedroom, so she posted an ad in the paper and GAVE IT AWAY!!!!!!!!!

I learned this recently after 10 years since we broke up. She gave it away to the first person to show up and take it! UGH!

I almost cried when she told me that.
Women...

Oh yeah, I just remembered. Involving the same woman, I was supposed to move to Chicago to be with her, so I sold off all of my games and put my house on the market. I had a Punchout, Tron, Track n field, Spy Hunter, Monaco GP sit down. Double Dragon, Karate champ, Gate of Doom, Ikari Warriors, and an old pinball machine, plus some NIntendo cabs and parts.

Of course, just after selling my last game, she dumps me. The only thing I refused to part with was my original 1980's Chexx Hockey. Still got it! And its held up better than my ex.

really??

Really?? Irvine?
shit I would drive that one!

I have a Food Fight that I had shipped from Queens NY to Irvine CA that my good buddy Justin who lives only an hour from the seller griped that it wasn't close enough for him to go get.

Buying a Primal Rage with a perfect cab, and then dropping it off the ramp of that damned $20/hour Home Depot truck!

Not adding a 36" door when I finished my basement.

Trading away my Blackout pin, after swapping in an NOS cleared playfield.

Before I got into aquiring classic arcade games. I was given a Arkanoid II. I could not get it to work and sold it for 20 bucks. :(

NOT picking up a Cheyenne for $400 (A+)
STILL not having a Tron, or BZ

Selling my Vs. Castlevania cabinet that I bought for $160 - I bring it up often. Fast forward a few years and people are paying out the ass for the game.
