What do you all think of the new dash? It's basically the same as the old, but more "Web 2.0-ish." It's not bad, but I don't much care for it - the graphics are brighter than before which not only fucks with my eyes but also screws with my theme which is pretty dark.

Whatever, it's not a big. My only thing is...during the "intro" video, why was one of billybob2236's avatars walking me through stuff? Or was it just coincidence? When (if) you watched that, was one of your friend's avatars on there?

Didn't watch the intro movie cause it was the same shit as always. I like the netflix better since u see the whole movie cover and its not slanted. Thy was a pain when u browse through 200 movies

I only watched it because I was VERY bored.

I hate it!! What were they thinking with a blinding white background? I almost dropped the controller trying to cover my eyes from blindness.

Yeah, the previous dash pissed me off for not being customizable as well. The OLD dash was, to an extent, so I don't understand why the last one forced us to use this bright green crap and this one forces bright white.

Jeez.

I didn't realize this had come out until I saw this thread. Upgraded yesterday and it looks about the same, but more.. wii-ish, I guess. eh.

The Netflix update is nice. I like the search and the full boxart is nice.

Man, why does everyone keep trying to copy wii. Soon enough every game is going to require some kind of motion sensitive controller. I'm not saying I don't like wii games, I just don't want to play every game by waving my arm around and jumping up and down. Plus all the 3D crap that Sony's trying to pull will just make things worse. Now I'll be jumping up and down and waving my arm with glasses on.

I just wish these game company would quit worrying upgrading their systems and work on making good quality games for what they already have...

That concludes my rant.

I can't stand motion control games. I had a wii and got rid of it because of that stupidity being forced upon me. I wanted to play Metroid Prime 3 but it didn't allow a classic (read: real) controller - just the stupid wagglemotion.

Waste of money. Kinect, Move, all that stuff. Garbage.

I hate motion controls, I suck at them and don't want to move when I play video games but I want a PS move for light gun games. But.. it's too much for a move, 2 controllers for it and 2 light gun adapter things. I will wait until someone trades one in and get it on the cheap :p

Motion controls are cool in the right kind of game, and done right. Eg, Wii Sports series, and Boom Blox. But those are about the ONLY games that make really good use of the motion controller, almost every other game on the Wii could have been done just as well with a standard game pad, and could do without the motion control gimmicks. All they do is replace a button press with waggling a controller. I don't want to waggle a friggin' controller. That's not fun.

The Wii has the highest level of awful shovelware known to man as a result of software houses rushing to churn out games to ride the motion control bandwagon. Only the Nintendo in-house games are any good. That said though, the Wii has a LOT of awesome exclusive titles.

About the only use I can see for these controllers eg the Move on the PS3 is to come closer to replicating mouse controls on a PC, eg aiming control for FPS games, and point-click selection for RTS games.

And they can do light gun style games again. The traditional light gun that worked with a CRT won't work with LCD and Plasma. So motion control is a way to make these work with any TV.

And Kung Fu Rider on the PS3... WTF???

Maybe someone should make a separate thread so we can all grip about the overuse of motion sensing in games as much as we want. :D

I agree!! WHat is the point if it's already been done? Nintendo has already capitalized on the wireless fad and was the first to do it on next gen consoles so why try? Nintendo is probably laughing at MS and Sony for trying to copy way too late in the game basically saying "been there done that"

Word .

I'm not sure I get the complaint about it being too bright. Maybe if you came from a really dark theme, but it looks pretty much the same as the last dashboard IMO. Oh and Matt, I finally added you to my friends list :D I had the thing plugged in so I could buy a couple of games and get the update.

It looks fine, but it does look a little bit too Web 2.0 as said above. Not really a fan of that in this case.

Well, I usually keep the lights in the 'gameroom' dim, and yes my theme is pretty damn dark (Nazi Zombies premium theme from CoD:WaW), so there's a lot of contrast there!

And I was wondering if you ever even logged into that damn thing!

Well, I just don't want to spend any money on the wireless part (or a live subscription). I've got so much online gaming coming from Steam that having it on the Xbox just isn't a priority.
