"You've come a long way baby." The backstory...

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=380463

Took me 16 hours today to go through all 30 machines and get them inspected, cleaned, repaired (a few of them needed monitor readjustments), and situated for the best layout that the electrical loads will handle. I had four 15 amp circuits at my disposal and I was able to get all the machines set up in a decent layout that evenly distributes the load. All in all, I'm really happy with the turnout. I was able to move 30 machines from my old house, into storage, out of storage, and into the new house with zero casualties. That's almost unheard of for something like this. So here are all the pics. Anyone who wants to come over and play if they're in town is more than welcome to!...

Awesome...BUT

The games in the middle rows need to be back to back..Arcades always did it that way and looks better anyway but yea WOW! you must be hurting but so happy to have a new home and game room!!!

OH MY GOD.

That's what going through my head as I looked through the pictures. OH MY GOD. That shit is AMAZING. I am extremely envious of your home Arcade. I recently was gifted my first arcade game(Playchoice CounterTop) and I was thinking how do I go from the (1) Non Working game to that beautiful room full of restored games. Pretty Awesome my man! I concur with one of the other member who posted about your home arcade that you sir have achieved a:

FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing this. I was smiling the entire time through reading through your post!

Very nice indeed! Love the big 4 players lined up...

Awesome is all I can say! Loving all the Midways lined up! Being a little "younger" and missing out on the Golden Age, that's what I remember most growing up...like others I have grand plans one day to have the space and or to have space built to have a setup like yours!

Great collection and thanks for sharing!

What dimensions are you working with down there?

Thanks for the kinds words everyone. Took a LOT of time, effort, and energy to get this done.

Thank you. I tried doing back to back, but they go all the way across to the room and I run out of length. Plus, all the ones that are side by side are on their own 15a circuit and if I put them all back to back down the middle, it would require a bunch of extension cords to reach the outlets on the south wall. I didn't want to do that. I couldn't do a back to back layout the other way either (where they face the other games) because there isn't enough room to play the ones around the perimeter. Your butt is an inch from the face of the game behind you. Hope that makes sense. This was the only layout I could do and be able to play all the games comfortably. I also did the side by side layout because that will allow me to add a few more games if I ever wanted to.

OH MY GOD.

Thank you. I can't remember off the top of my head. I'll have to go measure. I'll get back to you.

That is a fantastic space....but my back hurts just thinking about moving that many games around.

My brother and I are pretty bruised up, but no worse for wear really. My old place didn't have stairs, so the only "lifting" we really had to do was over the door frames and up the truck ramp. We moved all the machines down the stairs by laying them on their backs and just sliding them down. Worked like a champ.
