So I just got back from a warehouse with 300+ machines that are in the process of liquidation. Apparently the operator who rented the warehouse passed away recently with no next of kin and the warehouse owner just wants the stuff gone so its going CHEAP. I spent about an hour going through the place and ended up getting an Arch Rivals machine (100% working, great condition in Dynamo cab) for $50 and a Street Fighter II machine in a perfect cab without a working monitor for $50.

Next Saturday 1/9 will be the last opportunity to pick anything up before an op from Houston shows up with a semi truck to take everything else. I would really STRONGLY recommend that if you're in Texas and have an interest in the hobby you check this out.

As near as I can tell most of the machines will need new monitors/monitor tune-ups and most of the joysticks and buttons will probably need to be replaced but other then that everything looks pretty good. Some of the machines have been vandalized during a break-in but there are plenty of duplicates that you could scrounge parts from.

I didn't take pictures (too dark), but here's a rough inventory of what I saw. Most of the stuff will need basic repair but the vast majority of the cabinets were in AWESOME shape.

20+ Pole Positions
40+ Street Fighter II Champion Edition Hyper Fighting (most playing blind)
8+ Hang On
5+ Paperboy
4+ Mortal Kombat (cabs in good shape, tested not working)
20+ Bad Dudes
30+ Shinobi

+ lots of random machines and some redemption stuff. I came across a Mr. Do (with good marquee, cp). Basically most of this stuff hasn't been in use for probably 10-15 years but the warehouse was dry (if not really dusty) and things seem pretty well preserved.

If you want to reach the guy that's liquidating the stuff - his name is Doug and his number is 210-651-5035 and his email address is [email protected]. If you go to take a look bring a long (100+ foot extension cord), flashlights and a dolly (some of the stuff is up 2 flights of stairs with no functioning elevator.) If you need a hand give me a shout and I can probably come down and help.

OK. So that's the dude with all the $45 cabs on EBay then.

If I had the room, I'd probably go just to score some cabinets for later...:(

Did he mention which op from Houston?

Hey Ken if you're going out there and want company let me know, we can split the gas.

Hi Alex,

I'm really on the fence about this one. The pics on EBay make them look like an easy fix for most of the games, and the prices are really good. But the market right now sucks so bad, I'm not sure that a $50 game with another $50 in gas, parts and cleanup would even sell for $50. Plus there isn't anything I've seen on the list that is really exciting. So that means even more money converting the cab to something else.

I ended up selling the Stargate last night for $350 and I had to throw a new CPO in to close the deal.

If it's not a Ms Pac or a Galaga right now nobody wants it. That may be local to Houston, but I am getting the feeling that the market is down everywhere.

Probably Charles from Joystix.

That was my first thought, but Charles usually doesn't buy the titles on that list becase there really isn't much of a market for them. Unless there is a stash of treasures hidden behind curtain #2, I'm wondering about Callen or somebody else. But then again, the price could be just too tempting for him.

I wouldn't say there's anything in here that's worth a ton of money, but it's still really cheap. If you're looking for parts then this is a great opportunity as well.

I guess I should add I saw some Asteroids cabs that had been converted, but the side art still looked really good. Also a lot of handlebars for Paperboys if you're looking for replacements.

$50 paperboys? At that price, even I'd grab one of those. That game still commands decent money, especially restored. Of course the drive would be painful :)

I'm mostly just on the lookout for a horizontal Jamma cab. But some extra parts could be handy as well.

I want one of those as well, and a dynamo would be the best way to go. I'm more for the classics, but a 25 in dyno would be effin sweet to have. To bad hes to effin far away! Hey Dale, how much for a corner cut dynamo cab?

Nothing really there to make any money on, even at $50. I'm just interested in the Outrun and a Paperboy.

I have bought some stuff from this guy in the past. No complaints about any of the transactions.

If I had the time and the space I might have tried to make the drive. As of right now I just hope the guy that plans on buying all the machines doesn't flood CL with SF2's if he is from Houston.
